My home town of Waukesha, Wisconsin has numerous establishments in which to enjoy a Friday fish fry, and throughout the years I have dined at many of them. Some were better than others, and I personally have come to prefer the homemade beer batter fish fry over any processed varieties that some places offer.

As a Wisconsin native I grew up enjoying the Midwest tradition of going out for a Friday fish fry. In Wisconsin a Friday fish fry is offered at all non-chain restaurants, taverns that also offer food, supper clubs, and even some small chain restaurants. A typical Wisconsin fish fry consists of deep fried cod, perch or walleye, and generally comes with italian fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and bread on the side.

In my opinion Big Guy's Grille in Waukesha, Wisconsin, truly does offer the best Friday fish fry in Waukesha, and i am truly grateful that i am able to enjoy their delicious homemade food!

Earlier this year I heard about Big Guy's Grille, which is a newer Waukesha establishment that specializes in offering homemade foods; including their legendary beer battered deep fried cod. I decided that I would try their Friday fish fry, so my girlfiend and I made the short trip to dine in.
Family operated, Big Guy's Grille was a busy, but pleasant atmosphere on this Friday night, and the service was awesome! While being seated and awaiting our order, the owner, Greg ["The Big Guy"] Eckl, approached our table to let us know that our food would be up soon. I explained to the Big Guy that this was our first experience in trying their Friday fish fry, and they modestly proclaimed the beer batterd deep fried cod to be The Best Friday Fish Fry In Waukesha. Noting the crowd, as well as the long line of cars leading to Big Guy's pick up window on the way in, I observed that the Big Guy truly must have something exceptional to offer, and I longed even more to sink my teeth in to some delicious homemade fish.
Our wait was relatively short when our meal came. It was hot, and I noticed right away that this was going to be my new Friday fish fry preference. Their homemade beer battered cod was absolutely delicious, plentiful, and affordable! In addition Big Guy's Grille offers perch, walleye, bluegill, catfish, grouper, snapper, and jumbo butterfly shrimp. Moreover, their menu items include luscious black angus burgers and fesh homemade pizza!
