Some things you need to think about as far as the best fishing lure goes for bass fishing. Wheather it be smallmouth bass or largemouth bass. This really does not matter all that matters is that you are using the right fishing lure to reel in what could be the new record bass for your bass fishing lake.Getting out on the water equipped with the right bass lures is the secret to hooking a trophy fish. Heavyweight bass in hidden crevices of the rockiest lake will swim in your direction when they're beckoned by the intense vibration of precision-tuned lipless crankbaits.

Bass fishing is just one of the many forms of relaxation the individual can do to spend quality time with family or bond with friends. It beats working in the office and is a great escape from the pressures of the city.

There are a few things needed in order to fish aside from a boat, the fishing pole and a license since most states require it. There area also the lures, which will be used to attract the fish so these can be captured and brought aboard.

Here are just some of the best fishing lures you can use while you are bass fishing. By making sure you have atleast one of each of these lures. I would also recommend getting atleast one of each in the four most popular colors. This will be your key to finding what the best fishing lure will be for bass fishing for your style of fishing.

  1. Plastic Worms

Plastic Worm - Plastic worms have probalby accounted for more bass than any other kind of bait. They are very versitile and can be fished from the top to the bottom. You can get any size needed from tiny three inch worms to monsters over 10 inches long. And the come in all colors of the rainbow - and hundreds more. Rig them Carolina style, Texas style, on a jig head, weightless and any other way you can imagine and they will catch bass.
  2. Crankbaits, Crank Baits

Crankbaits with realistic finishes and actions from Megabait, Lucky Craft, Megabass, Jackall, and more are offered. Choose your crankbait taking into account the depth you want it to reach and the colors that are effective for your situation. Generally, a realstic color that matches bait fish in your area for clear water and regular water temps. A brighter high contrast color maybe better for murky water or colder water temps. We also have a few interesting crankbaits that offer unique features such as super shallow runners (combines topwater actions with traditional crankbait characterisitics,) and segmented crankbaits that have a more realistic swimming action and rattling. Try a lipless crankbait with rattles to cover more area quickly as a search bait in various depths.
  3. Spinnerbaits

Spinnerbaits are often referred to as "the most versatile" lure because they can be fished in nearly any condition, year 'round. They can be fished in winter, summer, fall, spring, hot water, cold water, muddy water and even clear water; from just under the surface to as deep as you want to fish it. It also is the type of lure that can be fished in, over, through and around many forms of cover.
Spinnerbaits used to be called "safety-pin" lures, because their shape resembles that of an open safety pin. A lead head of varying weight is combined with a wire framework, sharp hook and one or more flashing spinner blades. A soft-rubber, plastic, silicone or "lumaflex" skirt is added to cover the hook. The spinnerbait has a smooth, flowing action that mimics a swimming baitfish. The blades vibrate and flash, attracting the attention of bass. You can use spinnerbaits in most bass-fishing situations, but they are especially suited to fishing shallow cover. The most popular sizes range between 1/4-ounce and 3/4-ounce.
  4. Jerk Bait

All jerk baits have a few characteristics which set them apart from all other baits. Jerk baits are slender for their length, presenting an ideal profile for a lurking bass looking for a quick meal. Although most jerk baits are high floaters, they all trigger the bite while underwater, which seperates them from a pure top water lure. All of the hard baits have some type of lip to pull the bait underwater, much the same as a crank bait. But the thing that sets them apart from other lures is the way they are worked. To get the most out of a jerk bait, you use the rod in short or long jerks without reeling. This rod action is what gives jerk baits their name, and their action underwater.

With those four baits making sure you have many differnet colors of each. Will start to turn you into a bass pro in no time at all. For a few more of the best fishing lures for bass fishing.
