Clutch handbags are the smallest handbag you can get. They have no handle and therefore are meant to be literally carried in the hand. Since they are so small, they only have room for the basic necessities such as driver’s license, a credit card, lipstick and a small cell phone. These are the same handbags you will see women literally “clutching” (hence the name) at black tie affairs or other formal occasions.
