The Best Job I've Ever Had: Writing from Travelling
67Answering a Hubpages member's request, I think the best job I've ever had in my life up to now is writing from travelling. Besides I get to know other culture, try to speak their language, the most important thing is that I learn to understand that in this context there's nothing absolutely wrong or true, but just a difference that makes this world is uniquely rich.
Actually this is not a job, but I myself have considered it as 'my most favorite job' because I feel I enjoy writing articles about the places I have visited and there's a pleasure to know anyone who reads it gain more knowledge, with the hope that one day they would have the ocassion to explore it like me too.
I happened to have the chance to go overseas by winning scholarships for a short course or participating in an international conference once (so not by my own money as I know going abroad costs pretty much for a simple girl like me :p). And since I also like writing I think it is fantastic to get to know every single place with its interesting views, history, or custom so that I will learn many new things.
In Indonesia working as a freelance article writer is likely little-paid, except if I want to make it published in a national mass media even though I must wait for it for months and there are many other good articles waiting to be on the news as well. But once I managed to publish my article on Capadocia on a community-based magazine in Singapore and indeed I got paid twice :) !
Someday I would like to continue writing for magazines abroad but now the problem is that I still use simple English which is not properly written for good and well-established mass media like Reader's Digest or other worldwidely publications. But anyway this kind of skills has always to be practised, isn't it?

Dont worry too much about perfection dear dinamars! You have already started the walk to perfecton- I had the ocassion to read your article (Cappadocia: A land of Peace and Rich in History) and come to the conclusion that you indeed, are a good writer! Keep perfecting your skills one step at a time, you will be surprised. Am not a good writer myself, but I think, writing could easily be my treasured job some day!
Keep up the good work! Getting better only comes with practice.
Many Blessings,
SparklingJewel
Thank you ,Dinamars, for taking me to places I have never been and showing me the world through your eyes. A delightful spirit shines through your words. Linguistic details are only mechanics and they will come with practice. The talent is there. I'm looking forward to reading more from you:-)
wow, i'm quite surprised to see many fellow members commenting on this post, didn't think it would be. Vaidy, you seem to be the 'true-taveler' wandering on your own, especially for your 'bicycle europe tour', it's cool! thanks Robie2, Sparkling Jewel and Huba for all your supports! :)

Hi Dinamars, Interesting hub. I would say that your English is pretty good and you could certainly make money through writing. Considering that you are interested in people and culture, your writing should appeal to a large audience. Of course, you can always improve your language skills and ability to express yourself, and write better and better. This is what all professional writers do.I am myself a freelance writer. You may read about my experiences at http://triologue.blogspot.com/Keep writing! Good Luck!
