Lip plumpers - Whats so great about them anyway? So you're in the market for a lip gloss that plumps your lips, but how do you find the best plumping lip gloss? And whats special about a plumping lip gloss?

Surgical lip enhancement involves injecting collagen into your lips directly. Collagen injections can look very unnatural, are expensive, and require more injections over time. Are you willing to have this done to your lips? And pay someone thousands of dollars a year to boot!

Lip gloss is a safe, natural and effective way to plump your lips without surgery. Will lip gloss plumpers or lip plumpers make you have Angelina Jolie's lips? No. I won't even qualify that, the answer is just "no". What a lip gloss plumper will do is smooth out the wrinkles in your lips, make your lips tingle, add a beautiful shine and sheer color and yes make your lips look fuller.

Different lip plumpers work in different ways. Some lip plumpers work by adding vitamins to the gloss enhancing blood flow to the area. Many lip plumping glosses use cinnamon to irritate the lips. Irritated lips increase blood flow which increase the size of your lips. Some lip plumpers have collagen in the mix so that when applied to the lips, the collagen seeps into the crevices and fills them up.

All plumping treatments need to be reapplied to be effective. Some treatments, the more expensive ones, surgical treatments, require injections every 6 months. Glosses which use an irritation technique need to be reapplied after the effect fades (every 15 minutes). Gloss which uses collagen also requires application.

I'm reviewing the Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips first because its my personal favorite. Its not an amazing plumper, but it tastes great, has a great smell, lovely gloss and color and it does take the wrinkles out of my lips.

This is my favorite lip plumping product, not because it makes my lips look like Angelina's but because, at 37, I have a few extra wrinkles on my lips that it obviously smooths out.  Personally I prefer a more subtle plump.

I love the smell and the color selection, which is another reason I recommend the Buxom Lips brand. If you've read my other reviews of lip gloss you will know that smell is really important to me.

Another thing I'm adamant about is using the best lip gloss for kissing. I'm a firm believer that lip gloss should make your lips loook kissable. This gloss does that. It also doesn't make his lips glossy.

One last thing. This gloss has a lovely, lovely feeling when you put it on. Almost like you ran an ice cube across your lips. I love that! I'm not sure if its the vitamins in the gloss, or the plumping ingredients, whatever it is it feels awesome when you wear it.

Bottom line if you want noticibly bigger lips than this isnt the gloss for you, but if you want soft, kissable, smoother lips than pick up a tube. Its ony $18 bucks. I've had mine for about 2 months.

I really liked the Maybelline Volume XL Seduction Lip Plumper color and the price is awesome at about 7 bucks. Its hard to beat a lip gloss plumper that costs that little and is available anywhere.

First off, I tried the gloss because I saw the review (check out the video review on the right). I liked what she had to say and I loved the color on her lips. So those are the pros.

The cons? Well I wish she would have shown before and after on her video because this had zero plumping effects for me. I really didnt notice much of a difference even in the smoothness of my lips. I give this an F for plumping.

Why did I choose to recommend this product anyway? Because the color, gloss and stay put effects make it a really worthwhile gloss. Most importantly the price is nice.

I really wouldnt recommend this for plumping, taste or smell but the color, price and gloss is really nice. If you're looking for a really cheap gloss that stays put  for a while, this is the one to choose.

If you want an actual gloss that plumps, this is the gloss you want.

DuWop Venom Gloss is the only gloss which immediately plumped my lips. Its hands down the best plumping lip gloss available.

The only reason that it wasn't my first recommendation was because of personal choice. I don't really want bigger lips and this gives you that effect. The plumping effect comes at a cost , though.

The DuWop gloss literally burns when you put it on. I'm pretty sure it is the ingredients that plump that cause the burning sensation but it does sting to the point I amost took it off. I have to say the stinging wore off after about 30 seconds. The plump effect also wore off in about 10 minutes, just reapply the gloss to have the effect.

There is nothing spectacular about the gloss effect, but it does have a nice sheen. The sheen, not the plump effect, also stays on for a long period of time. I ate semi-carefully and still had a slight gloss effect at the end of the meal.

If you're willing to put up with the sting effect, and to be honest I think you won't find an actual gloss that makes your lips bigger without the sting, then this gloss is a defintely good buy for you.
