The atmosphere is very romantic with softly lighted tables surrounded by beautiful artwork. The Firehouse is considered one of the best restaurants in the area in terms of its food and diversity of wines it offers. And it has won numerous awards for its excellence in dining. The Slocum House is a restaurant found in a section known as Old Fair Oaks about twenty minutes outside Downtown Sacramento. Sitting atop a hillside surrounded by 100 year old oak trees, the Slocum House offers both scenic views and cozy privacy in a building that has been designated a historic landmark. The Slocum also offers fine dining of American cuisine and offers one of the best wine lists in town.
