If your looking for inspiration to help you choose the best first person shooting games to get to play on your XBox 360, or any other shooting and war games for that matter, then hopefully this little list will help. I've started out with what I think are 5 of the best around at the moment, but as new releases come out, particularly over the next couple of months, I will try to add any other which seem like the deserve to be included. Whether your an avid Xbox gamer yourself, or if you are looking for a gift to buy someone else for Christmas or for their birthday, I hope this hubpage will help you and I welcome your comments at the bottom of the page

OK, so maybe I am jumping the gun a little bit by including a game which, at the time I am writing this, won't be released for another week, and which I therefore obviously haven't played, but the Halo games are true giants of the genre and you can rely on this expansion featuring a new campaign, new hero, tactics, weapons and technology being another top quality game. Released on 22 of september it is set to be one of the top games for Christmas 2009 and has been eagerly awaited by many fans. You can preorder from places like amazon, who also offer a bonus gift if you do.

From new release to a more old school game. Coming up to 3 years since it first release Gears of War is almost at the stage where it could be called a 'classic' game, but I reckon it still deserves its place in this list as one of the best first person shooter games you can get, and it doesn't feel like a dated game to play. Gears of War has a great story and cinematic graphics that really make an impact, and the fact that its now starting to get on a bit means that you can get this one for a great price, making it my pick as the best bargain buy.

 Strictly speaking I suppose this is not just a shooting game and doesn't quite come under the same category as most of the other  games I've picked as it's not first person and there's all the driving and other stuff as well as running around shooting people, but I think its close enough and the Grand Theft Auto series is widely regarded as one of the best ever produced.

 Coming up to it's 3rd birthday now, Mass Effect is still one of the most popular shooting games around - just take a look at the reviews on Amazon if you don't beleive me, they're some of the most positive reviews I've seen. Great character and storyline, this is a good one for people who are into RPG (role playing games) and like Gears of War can be snapped up for a great price.

Due to be released on 10 November 2009 this is another one where I've jumped the gun a bit by including it before it's even been released. But again you can buy it on preorder (reccomended if you want to make sure you can get a copy for Christmas 2009) and again it is one where I can be pretty certain that it will be a great game based on previous Call of Duty games, and again its one that many fans wille be eagerly waiting for.
