17% think bailout will work.
Ok, so 17% of those who have viewed this believe that the bailout will work. I would truly like to know on what they base their beliefs on. So far the only thing I see happening is extensions to these programs that are suppose to bail us out. Can this truly work, when these programs are building the nations debt even more each and every day? Do you not understand that the debt has to be paid at some point, who do you think will pay that debt? Are you ready to give up even more of your hard earned money to pay this debt? Well that is what is going to happen.
Do any of you truly see any real difference in the economy since these programs started? Have you been paying attention to the housing market? Are you not aware that 1000's of people are still being foreclosed on each month? Are you not aware that unepmloyment is not improving, in fact it is still growing a little each month.
Come on if your going to say that this bailout will work include some of reasons on why you believe it will work. Enlighten me! Prove to me that I am wrong, and that we will not end up in a depression, and that your right, that we will recover without the depression.
2 who lived through a great depression.
Is this for real?
I know all of us have seen something about this big bailout plan. I prefer to call it the baleout plan.
I think all of you who are Americans, should have someone old enough in your family who can give first hand testimony to what the depression of 1929 was like. If you do not I think you would be wise to find someone who can give you the truth about it. The similar way that our current crisis has started should be enough to encourage everyone to take a short history lesson from them.
Some will say that our government acted to slow, others will say to fast. No matter what their opinion is on this fact they all will agree on the fact that it cost all Americans dearly for years after it happened. This is of course a matter of opinion and who you listen to. But the fact remains that it did indeed cost America for years. It was one of the worst times, if not the worst time, in our history. Lost jobs, homes, money, fortunes, and life.
What will it take for our government to figure out that what they have proposed so far, on our current crisis, will be nothing more than a temporary fix. What has been proposed so far is like trying to put a fir out by putting a Bale of hay on it. Sure the bale of hay will slow the fire down for a short while, but it will consume the baled hay soon enough and burst through, a lot of times resulting in even more damage. Since the underlying cause was not corrected prior to the baled hay it can not and will not correct the problem but in the short term.
I find it hard to believe that we the American people would and or will allow our government to get away with this current plan. Or any other plan that does not address the root cause of our current crisis. And, please do not let them lie to you on what that cause is. It is the housing market. and any plan that does specifically deal with it as the main correction, will fail to be any thing more than a temporary correction. Any temporary correction will result in a depression before it is all over. If we allow it to become a depression, it will be with us longer than the next president will be, that is right 4 years will not be enough time to recover from it. Even 8 years will be pushing it for a complete recovery.
I am sure most of us are wondering just how this crisis can be fronted and halted without it becoming a depression. I am not the smartest person on this but even I can see that any plan that has any chance of succeeding must start with the root cause. Again I am no expert but here are a few suggestions just for the heck of it.
1. Why not start with the small banks that are in trouble, our home town banks, the ones that most of us actually use. Or would we prefer for them to be bought out by the companies that will currently benefit from the current plan bailout.
2. If the government wants to buy distressed mortgage's why not buy them directly from the home homeowners and then let the home owners make payments to the government, at a reduced and workable amount that allows them to remain in their homes. This makes the most sense to me, it truly address's the root of the problem.
3. Between 65 and 75% of all Americans jobs come from small business, so support the small business that our jobs come from, through immediate lines of guaranteed lines of credit until such time that we have recovered from this crisis. Again at realistic and workable rates to ensure that they have a real chance of surviving this crisis.
4. After the first 3 points are in place then and only then look at the possibility of helping the large companies that provide jobs to the rest of us.
5. Finally after all 4 points above are workable and realistic, take a look at helping the financial companies responsible for our getting into this crisis, Provide only enough money to help them survive, if that means that some must fall, so be it, they did this themselves, we the American people did not force them to make stupid decisions that has resulted in what is going to be one of the worst if not the worst periods in our history has a nation.
5a. If we do provide relief to these companies to help them weather the storm they created, it must not only limited what the CEO'S get for compensation it should eliminate their pay all together. Unless we have become a nation that says it okay to cause us this crisis and we think you deserve millions of dollars for doing this to us, go ahead and start over and do it to us again sometime in the future, for a third time. I mean, do any of us work in positions that would allow us to destroy their company and still reward us? I think not, most of us would find ourselves in serious trouble and possibly even facing time in prison for what most companies would prove was fraud and theft. Lets be realistic about this, they should face the same kind of punishment we would face-in similar situations.
Finally, I believe we as Americans know that some kind of BALEOUT will be forth coming. I believe that we can not allow it to be a deal that dos not address the root problem face on, or we will be paying for it for many years to come and the real cost will be a lot greater than we have been led to think at present. Any deal that is not in the real interest of correcting the root problem should result in our demanding the resignation of each and every government official that has signed off on it , if we allow them to put a temporary fix on the problem and take no action on our own behalf, then we deserve what ever we get. Have we truly forgotten that these officials work for us, that we do not work for them. We pay them over $300,000.00 a year to look out for us, not big business. What will it take for us to open our eyes and say enough is enough, we demand that you do the job we the people of this great nation are paying you to do. How far into this crisis must we fall before we demand that they start with the real problem and work up from there. How many jobs must we lose before we finally realize that what they are proposing will not correct this crisis, as currently put forth, until we know that it will not work and demand that it be corrected so that it does have a chance of working.
I believe that we the American people have let our government tell us for long enough, what is good for us, telling us what is right for us, and leading us into believing that they are the only ones would can save us. Is it not time that we say, "no more, we elected you to look out for us the people, and we demand that you do look out for our interest in this crisis".
This is and old but true saying, "united we stand, divided we fall" which one do you choose as an American? Will we let our government pass a deal that does not address the root cause or we will come together and demand that any deal made does in fact address that root problem? It is our choice not our governments. Do not let them do a BALEOUT that will not work!

He -Pres. Bush-is only looking out for himself and his. He has proved this time and again. Look at the gas crisis of late or even the last 2 years. He could have looked out for us then. Put a cap on gas prices for the american people--even temperary he chose not to. Instead he let the gas companies make record profits time and again. And we know what one of his families main business is. And we all know from past experiences that President (King George) Bush does not care about mere peasants. Has he honestly done ANYTHING for the lower income americans? I hope and pray whomever the new President is that he at least WANT to help the working class folks.
