Big Bang Theory and its Concepts:-

We all have taken birth on this wonderful planet called Earth, we have taken food from it, we have taken water from it, and we have taken many resources from it. You must have wondered several times that how this great planet of ours came into existence. or better still, you must have wondered how did the whole Universe of which the Earth is just a minute part was born?, The answer to this mystery is the Big Bang Theory.

What is Big Bang Theory ?

Big Bang Theory is the currently accepted explanation of how the universe came into existence several billion years ago.The big bang theory says that

"The universe once was an extremely compact, dense, and hot mass of gases. A cosmic explosion called the big bang, occurred about 13.7 billion years ago, which left the universe expanding and cooling since then. "

Evidences that supports the Big Bang Theory

This theory can be described by the concept of mathematical equations, known as field equations, stated down in the general theory of relativity, which was set forth in 1915 by Albert Einstein. Russian physicist Alexander Friedman, in 1922 gave a set of solutions for the equations which were described in the relativity theory of Albert Einstein. These solutions given by Alexander Friedman have served as the framework for the current theoretical work on the concepts of big bang theory. American astronomer Edwin Hubble provided some great supporting evidence of the theory with his discovery in 1929 which says that the light produced by far away galaxies was shifted toward the red end of the spectrum universally. As the “tired light” theories which say that light loses energy slowly and naturally, becoming red as the time passes, were dismissed, this shifting of light proved that the galaxies were drifting away. Hubble found that galaxies which were farther away were moving away at a proportionally faster rate, which showed that the universe is expanding uniformly. However, Universe’s initial state was still unknown.

Russian-American physicist George Gamow worked on a theory in 1940’s that was in tune with Friedman’s solutions according to which the universe expanded from a hot, dense state. British astronomer Fred Hoyle, in 1950, to support the opposing steady-state theory, given by him, referred to Gamow’s theory as “big bang,” but the name stuck and populated the theory as the Big Bang Theory. A contest held by Sky & Telescope magazine in 1990’s to find a better and a more dignified name did not produce any result.

Birth of Universe in Holy Bible

Many theories have been given regarding the birth of universe, some have been credible some have been not. Many mythological theories also state the birth of universe, like the “6 days universe construction theory” described in the Holy Bible. More than half the world’s populations follow Christianity, they should now choose between god and science, both of whom heavily influence their lives.

Well written and good information. You may want to check out the latest theory in the April 09 issue of Astronomy magazine. The Big Bang may not have been the start of creation but a single event in an infinite cycle, hence the name Cyclic Universe Model. It's a very intriguing article you may want to read.
