It's Mogul Time!

Well it's that Business Mogul time of year again.

I'm sure you're wondering just what the hell I'm talking about.

Is it Wall Street bonus season you ask?

No. That's at the end of each year, I think.

Is it the start of Spring you wonder?

Well it is almost Spring. The birds are chirpin' and the rain is floodin'. But that's not it either.

Is it the NCAA tournament you ponder, with eyebrows furrowed into a caveman-like pose?

March Madness is certainly almost here. But again, no cigar.

I know right now you're probably thinking tax season. After all, business moguls hate to pay taxes. Uh ... no, not it.

I can't believe you business mogul wannabees can't get this one.

It's Mogul Season!

You know ... the time of year where Forbes Magazine releases its annual list of the world's richest Moguls.

Here are some quick observations about this year's list:

  • Business Mogul Warren Buffet is El Numero Uno!

Last year he was El Numero Dos (that means number 2 for you Spanish challenged moguls), and was reported to have briefly dropped to 3rd sometime in-between mogul seasons

  • Mexican Business Mogul Carlos "Slim" Helu is number 2

Are you serious? A dude named "Slim" is the second richest Mogul? Awesome!

  • Business Mogul Bill Gates is ... 3rd

That's right. For the first time in over a decade, Mogul Gates is not in the top spot. Beware, the Apocalypse is upon us!

  • The Walton family placed four Moguls in the top 10

This ain't John-Boy and crew. No sir baby.

These are the children of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton. They each have about $19 Billion. That's about $80 Billion Dollars ... in one family!

That should make them thar the wealthiest clan in these here parts.

Good night John-Boy.

  • Microsoft placed 3 Moguls in the top 50

That includes Mogul Bill Gates, current President Steve Balmer, and co-founder Paul Allen. Hail to Microsoft, Kingdom of the Moguls.

  • Moguls Sergey Brin and Larry Page, aka ... the Google Dudes, both made the top 40. And they're both under 40 years old.

  • Mogul Michael Bloomberg, also known as the Mayor of New York, weighs in at a cool $11.5 Billion.

So a future run for President of the US would cost Mogul Bloomberg only a little pocket change.

So here's my final notable observation today regarding this year's Business Mogul list:

I'm not on it ...and I seriously doubt you are either!

Well, maybe with a little luck and a little work, (and I do mean very little!), we can make the list next Mogul Season.

Ya know what they say ...

Sometimes Mogul Miracles really do happen!
