What do leafy greens, chicken breast, whole wheat pasta and bananas have in common? They aren't a McDonalds Supersized Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal!

The Biggest loser diet isn't complicated at all. Its a system based on the recommended daily diet of the food pyramid. The idea is, and has always been, nutrition is serviced by eating 4 fruits or vegetables (or a mix) servings, three lean protein servings, two whole grains and one type of fat or extra of the above.

What the biggest loser has in common with every diet which works longterm is that it doles out a certain amount of calories per day at the same time as supplying the nutrients our body needs to function.

Vegetables and fruit give us the dietary fiber, iron and vitamin C - 1 serving of vegetables or fruit is about the size of a baseball.

Proteins give us strong muscles and bones (milk is a protein!) a serving of lean meat is about the size of a deck of cards(lean! that means put down Porky and walk away slowly!) A serving of cheese is about your thumb (yes you can cry now).

Whole Grains gives important carbohydrates and dietary fiber - whole wheat spaghetti the size of an ice cream scoop (oh wow what a bad analagy now I want ice cream)

And fats give us fuel to burn other fat (you know the kinda we carry in our tushy) I think someone gave me two of those! Oh yeah McDonalds! Fats like almonds and peanut butter!

The biggest loser dieters have in common what all successful dieters have .. they count calories and exercise. Its simple and cheap!
