The Bike Trail Is Calling Me

The Allure Of Two Wheels
i use to live in the boonies, I mean a literal swamp, flying bugs, snakes and all. but now i live in the city. A small city, but a city, well actually a town. but I have DSL now, and that is a step up. So now that i am a city , excuse me a town dweller, what wonderful activities can I get involved?
Well it just so happends that I live two blocks from the Long Leaf Trace, and everytime I drive by I hear it calling out to me. The Trace is 41 miles long and fairly flat, it extends from Prentiss to Carson, to Bassfield, through Sumrall to Hattiesburg. I cross the tracks every morning next to the park in Prentiss and promise myself that I am going to get a bicycle and ride the trail. In the evening when I return home, I see the walkers, and think, about how nice it must feel to be out there. I recently fractured and dislocated my right ankle, so I am taking it kind of slow, but the Trail is so alluring and inviting.
Trail Watching
The park is directly across from the Post Office, one Saturday morning, I went down to check my PO Box and saw some of the early morning riders arriving. Lo and behold, not one but two of the fancy laid back bicycles. I walked over to get a closer look and they are really cool. i can imagine the large seat makes for a comfortable ride.
There were several nice folding cycle and even a two seater.

I know you mean! After I moved to Sumrall, the trail ran right by my house. I watched enviously of fathers and sons, mothers and daughters riding the trail on weekends. Dr. Pace ended my bike riding days forever in Monticello. Simply, because I had crushed a very tiny but important blood vessel in my crotch, I didn't use an anatomical correct bicycle seat.
