The Bikini is a two piece womens bathing suit and I bet no one knows who really invented the bikini. Well I'll tell you. It was the Romans who invented the Bikini Bathing Suit in around 700 AD.

Many people were shocked when the Bikini Bathing Suit appeared on the French Beaches in 1947. The man who gets the credit for inventing the modern Bikini is Louis Réard a french engineer. He named the bikini after Bikini Atoll in the South Pacific.

Another fact you may not know is that the Bikini is the most popular beachwear around the world. By the mid 1990's Bikini's became a 1 Billion dollar a year business.

Did you know that Bollywood Actress Sharmila Tagore made history and caused more than a few mens heart to skip a beat when she appeared in the movie,An Evening in Paris.

And if they could see how the Bikini has shrunk today all those people who freaked out about the Bikini in the late 1940's and 1950's would simply die today. Today you have the thong bikini and the string bikini and yes even the micro bikini that barely covers anything.

And at some beach locations around the USA and the world you can now have a Bikini made to order while you wait. The made to order bikini's are made to fit their wearer and are usually ready in 7-10 minutes. And you have the choice of all kinds of bikini fabric.

The string and thong bikini's are now appearing on beaches all over the world. The string bikini gets its name from the fact that its made basicly from strings. And not much more. Some Beach Communities in the USA south have banned the thong and string bikini's.

But world wide the string bikini is now the most popular bikini worldwide. And a micro bikini is a extremly skimpy bikini made popular at first on the beaches of Australia. But its a interesting fact that the micro bikini was first worn on Venus Beach in California.
