BlackBerry Curve 8900

The device is lightweight and is discreet, but is far from a simple smartphone. Design improved, modern operating system, multitasking - but lack the 3G.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 weighs only 110 grams, while for a BlackBerry, and is the thinnest smartphone launched by RIM to date: 13.5 mm. The look of the Curve 8900 gets some improvements seen in the BlackBerry Bold: the keys slightly inclined to assist in typing, and the button to lock the keyboard, on top - enough to shoot the lock on the menu!

You can type with one hand on the Curve, but you will see that he was made to use the two: the spelling is much more efficient using both hands. The buttons are hard and small, not big and rubber as the Bold.

The keyboard seems to be a bit loose: push up and down, and he moves with some ease. The back cover is a little flat.

On the screen, the Curve is very impressive: with 480x360 resolution (half VGA), the colors are bright and have good contrast - it is a pleasure to look at the screen of the Curve. The lighting of the screen, however, slightly affect the experience: the light changes automatically, sometimes is too weak, sometimes strong, and it does not control.

Battery life is fine for a smartphone: always lasted at least a day with intense use and Wi-Fi on, and four days with little use.

The Wi-Fi offset somewhat the lack of 3G, even with weak signal, the pages load quickly and the service does not suffer instability. However, if you can not access a wireless network where you are, bad luck. The Bluetooth is great for sending files, receiving, or both but can not receive anything via Bluetooth, or even paired the Curve setting to listen to other devices.

Is missing a file manager in Bend, with the memory card of 1GB. It is difficult to find the files without opening the corresponding program before. And the connection to the PC is kind of awkward: the file manager on the computer is complicated to use. But as the Curve is seen as a Pendrive after the device drivers installed, simply access it from Windows Explorer.

The BlackBerry browser is reasonable: law opened the three test pages (Google, Earth and Chalk), but does not run well or has Javascript Flash. In small pages, the navigation is good.

The e-mail, the main function of the BlackBerry,is relatively easy to configure, with a few clicks and entering login and password, you will receive e-mails quickly. There is much in this department, and e-mails in HTML and a much better source to read.
