When I was young I was made to go to church. I learned alot from church and made lots of friends. I have never made my children go to church. I have always taught them all I know about God. I believe just so you believe in God and know him you should not have to go to church. I was raised in a God fearing and believe me it was very strict.

When I married and moved away I decided I did not want to attend church. When I visited my home town I would go to church with my parents every once in awhile. My parents always wanted to take my kids to church and neices and nephews. I decided for my kids why not. They could one day make the choice for themselves as to whether they would want to continue to go to church.

My parents used to take my daughter and nieces and nephews when it was time to clean the church. One Saturday morning they took the kids with them to clean. While they cleaned the kids played in the basement of the church. On this day my parents heard the kids downstairs making alot of noise. As kids do they were screaming. Upstairs my parents figured they were playing and never even checked on them. At the time all this was going on the kids were ages four to eight.

That same night my daughter was acting whiney and would not tell me what was wrong. At the time she was only four so I don't know how much she could tell me. That night she wanted to sleep with mommy and daddy. She had nightmares and it was hard to get her back to sleep.

The next day she told me she had dreamed about the man at church. I asked her why she dreamed about the man at church and she said because he hurt her. After alot of talking to her and my neices and nephews we found out that the man at church was downstairs with the kids while my parents were upstairs. He was'nt there to play but to harm them. He had threatened to kill them if they told. That is why they did not.

The man at the church was a member of the church and for whatever reason no one knows he was at the church that Saturday.The kids decribed and the older ones called him by name. He was once accused of sexual abuse against his own daughter.

When we learned of who he was we took this to the police and they could do nothing because they said the kids were to young to be witnesses. Even though the doctors said there were signs of abuse.

Now as an adult do I base this on the reason as to why I do not attend church. The answer is simple no I do not. There are perverts all around us. I have two grandchildren now and believe me I know not to trust anyone around them.
