Tinnitus is not just a simple discomfort to some; in fact, the classic tinnitus cycle in these unfortunate individuals is a very serious problem. To others, tinnitus is a minimal sound sensation in one or both their ears that they can easily tune it out and resume their daily activities. However, there are others which suffer from a more severe case of tinnitus which causes some major disruptions in their daily routine.

What is tinnitus? Tinnitus, more commonly known as ringing in the ears, is the perception of humming, hissing, whistling, roaring, buzzing, or ringing sound sensations which can affect one or both ears. This sound perception is observed even without external sources. Earwax build-up, ototoxic drugs, congenital ear defects, head and neck injury, as well as medical conditions such as anemia, arteriosclerosis, and temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ) are all associated with tinnitus.

The classic tinnitus cycle can certainly add more distress to someone already suffering from a medical condition. The cycle involves the following process: tinnitus – anxiety – stress – insomnia – weakened immune system – health problems – increased levels of tinnitus. The cycle may seem rather simple and straightforward, but ask a tinnitus sufferer and you will know how hard it is to live with a constant and insistent ringing in your ears.

Tinnitus reduces the ability to concentrate which results to anxiety and stress over unfinished tasks and obligations. One of the most widespread complaints of tinnitus sufferers is their inability to sleep and achieve some quality shut-eye. They wake up tired and irritable. Lack of sleep has also been associated with risky fluctuations in hormones production and it can reduce the effectiveness of the immune system. A weakened immune system puts the individual at risk of many health implications – ranging from the common cold to the more serious problems like diabetes and hypertension. Some of these medical problems aggravate tinnitus which brings us back to the beginning of the cycle.

The classic tinnitus cycle is a one nasty cycle but you have the control of relieving yourself of the discomforts brought about by tinnitus before it can move on to the next step in the cycle. There are many available tinnitus remedies in the market today. Homeopathic tinnitus treatments are the most popular and by far, the most effective. A tinnitus remedy, along with a healthy diet and a strong resolve to stay away from factors that can worsen the problems, is vital to keeping tinnitus and its health implications at a minimum, if not complete relief from the condition itself.
