When you go to the tropical countries, you can find the coconut trees easily and almost everywhere. They usually grow along the seaside. The coconut trees are very usefull in each part. The leaves can be used as roof usually in the traditional houses. The trunks can be used any kind of things, but the important is the fruit. It grows in clusters. In one cluster there are about 5 - 10 coconut fruits. The shape is oval and about 30 cm long. It has a thick husk and a hard shell. Inside the shell there is white oily flesh and there is also sweet fluid.

The Coconut tree is belong to the palm tree. its latin name is Cocosnucifera. It grows well in tropical country. The trees can grow up to 30 m high. They have a single cylindrical trunk. There is a crown of leaves. The leaves are long, about 3 to 4.5 meters long.

Coconut fruit is high in sugar. It is also contains a lot of fat, protein, and vitamin. The young coconut water can be very refreshing drink which contains a lot of minerals. The meat can be dried into copra, they can get oil from it and use it for cooking oil or make it into soaps or candles. People can also make rope and doormats from coconut's husk.

Coconuts are usually propagated by seeds, but experts have been trying to clone coconuts or propagate them by tissue culture.
