The Colorado Lottery

The Colorado Lottery is a division of the Colorado Department of Revenue.

Since 1983, the lottery has generated almost $2 billion dollars for the improvement and such of state parks, wildlife projects, school capital funds, education about conservation, etc.

The recipients of Colorado lottery funding in 2008 are:

  • Conservation Trust Fund
  • Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation
  • Great Outdoors Colorado
  • School Health and Safety


The Colorado Lotto Games

  • Powerball - A Multi-State Lottery. Read about it.
  • Lotto - Six numbers need to be chosen by the player; between one and forty-two. Each ticket costs $1.00! Jackpots start at around one million dollars and rolls over if there is no winner.
  • Cash 5 - Available six days a week, the Cash5 game can be a fun option when choosing the correct winning numbers between one and thirty-two. Prizes are awarded if at least two numbers are matched!

The Colorado Lottery Instant and Other Games

  • Scratch - Win prizes from $1 to $500,000! Tickets vary in price from $1 to $20.
  • 2nd Chance - Available on the internet and via mail. Current prize is $1,000,000!

You could lose as much money as you play... haha. However statistically, you'd never lose everything, unless you ran out of money, before you win! :)

If you're just going for the Jackpots, yes. But some people are happy when they pick 2, 3, 4 or 5 numbers right and win smaller amounts. :)
