The Connection Between the Breed and the Method of Training
35
A father buys his son a dog but imagine that, the puppy wouldn't pass a ball with his muzzle to the six-year old. Every pet-owner expects something from his dog, and the poor animal may be very confused and distressed if that requirements aren't made comprehensible. This is where dog training comes in: it significantly improves the relationship between the animal and the human side, not only teaching the dog to respond appropriately but teaching the master as well to relate to him better.
Dog training has some golden common guidelines but still, some breeds are more aggressive and more easily aroused such as pit bulls that have been long trained for fights, or other are lazier, more entrepreneur-like and so on. Genetics doesn't fail that often when it comes to sowing the seeds of particular breed traits into descendents and that requires a very early start in the dog training issue so that careful grooming override the instinct of nature. For instance, the moment a dog has come into your house by some fortuitously act and you decide to make him your pet, start immediately the potty training. It is not a difficult chore: leave him in his confinement and when he indicates you he wants to "use the bathroom", take him out in the nearby park, or lead him to a chosen location every time: it is your job to make him understand the place he is supposed to go and show him repeatedly the mark, because the animal will surely make it obvious he wants to go out, as they never "stain" the place where they eat and sleep. If the animal doesn't assume the correct behavior, you weren't paying enough attention to his needs in time.
Regularity Leads to Success in Dog Training
It doesn't really matter the breed of the dog when talking about the developing of conditional instincts: since Pavlov made this Nobel worthy discovery, special trainers have used repeated behaviors to determine the dog to understand and to comply by giving rewards. It is important that you use for instance the same tone and pitch of voice when saying to the dog the command, and if you combine the resolute speech with an arm or hand gesture-a strong "go" with the arm raised pointing the direction, whatever you choose- the command should be learned very fast, after two or three times, if the dog is also given rewards and the owner acknowledges it when the correct behavior has been adopted.
Of course, you are recommended to have confidence in professional trainers and leave to them the job of successful dog training, but in the case of some special breeds, depending on what you expect from the dog, you are an essential part of the training too, and you must continue the process yourself, mostly because of your voice. It is only natural that an animal's instincts respond differently to the voice of his master and to the voice of a stranger. Moreover if you shout at your dog not to chew the couch, he will understand it's a bad behavior, solely combined with your presence. If you don't have, on the other hand, the help of an expert to tell you what to do, the dog will keep doing just that when left alone.
