The Cooperative Movement & Black Businesses
Karl Marxx,,,,,
On several occasions Marx declared himself strongly in favor of cooperative firms, maintaining that their generalized introduction would result in a new production mode. At different times in his life he even seems to have been confident that cooperatives would eventually supplant capitalistic firms altogether. I too agree with this idea on cooperative economics. Somethings simply put "Just Makes Good Business Since!"
The convergence of a profound economic crisis and the inauguration of Barack Obama as President has created both tremendous challenges and opportunities in the United States. One of the economic issues upon which we will need to address is: how to create millions of good jobs and who will get those jobs. That question needs to be addressed, because past experiences has shown that even though jobs may be created to employ millions across this nation, the black community still across the nation have the highest unemployment rate, mainly due to those jobs are not being created in their communities. Now even though that may seem alarming to some, it should be more alarming that for those in our respective communities who are fortunate to be employed and make a descent living, don't seem to consider buying in their communities, let alone building businesses to help uplift the community.
The sense of Cooperative Economics in Our Communities don't seem to exist. Why is that. Is it the negative perceptions placed on black businesses? Is it that we need to fit in still? What is it that hinders blacks in America from collectively working together (Hirambe)?
