The Creative Process

All big things have small beginnings. They are the seeds when planted in good fertile soil and watered will grow and become HUGE TREES if continually provided what they need.

The Creative Process utilizes this same beginning, the seed or thought and it actually needs two other components for it to flourish. The Creative Process has three main components that cause it to grow and produce continually.

Current Reality, End Result and Structural Tension. These three components utilized in balance will provide a very solid platform or foundation to build upon in all areas of life.

Current Reality is the place where we begin to realize that where we are is not where we want to be or not what we want out of life. It is the seed that says I desire something greater for my life and the lives of those around me. It is the stimulus that says there has to be more.

Current Reality is where we are it is not who we are. For many this distinction alone will set them free from the continual mental bombardments. They have become so inclined to believe that where they are in a particular area of life that that is really who they are. NO,NO,NO.....you are not and were never intended to relate to a present condition or mindset as WHO YOUR ARE.

Who you are and who you were created to be is much greater than a place. No one place can contain all of who you were created to be.

The End Result is the mountain top. It is the desired result. I have heard for years to always begine with the end in mind. it seemed like a great thought and has probably worked for many. But for me it all clicked when I added in the step before the End Result and that was my Current Reality. Knowing really where I was beginning gave me much greater clarity to see where I wanted to go.

The End Result must be clear. Having a plan that is layed out with easy to follow steps is welcoming. It actually creates a clearer ability to focus and maintain this focus even when things may get a little difficult.

Just as the Current Reality is not who we are but where we are, the End Result is not who we are but the desired place we are going. This thought can de-personalize everything. I have found that when things are not as personal they become easier to deal with and I have made better decisionssurrounding them.

Structural Tension is the last part but definitely not the least. For the Creative Process to even function there must be a balance of all three areas.

Structural Tension is the place in between Step One Current Reality and Step Two End Result. This is the place of implementing the Action Steps. The Action Steps do not all have to be in place to move forward. As a matter of fact it is better to get moving once you have just a couple Action Steps.

Each of the Action Steps need to be accompanied with dates of expected completion or implementation. This is where the Structural Tension comes into play. Seeing the Current Reality and End result and moving forward with Action Steps create an incredible energy, not an anxiousness or fear but good energy filled with expectations.
