If the school is a for-profit career college, their goal is to get and keep as many enrollments as they possibly can. That brings revenue to their school. This in and of itself isn't bad, but what you need to be careful of is checking out their accreditations and their reputation in placing graduates from their programs.

They oftentimes are paid with a base salary plus commission for every student they bring on board. Make sure their motivation and the schools motivation is to provide you with the best education. Ask for their retention rates and their placement rates. Find out how many of their graduates are now working in the type of facility you would choose. Find out what requirements got them the good jobs. Talk to other students on campus. Talk to a chef or two if possible who has graduated from that particular culinary arts college.

You are going to be spending a lot of your money to attend the culinary arts college of your choice and you want to be sure that the money you are spending will be spent wisely so you can have a successful career in the culinary arts field.
