Everybody always wants to talk about the fluffy side of article marketing – but I’m not gonna sugarcoat it. You need to know the truth once and for all!

Yes article marketing is a great way to market your business and get tons of backlinks. People will read your articles and if they like it they will republish it on their site - causing you to grow tons of backlinks out the WAZOO!!! ...Yeah right. This is what everybody tells you but it doesn’t always work that way.

In this hub we will take a look into the disturbing underworld of article marketing. These are the UNsugarcoated details that many have left out – they have neglected to openly discuss these issues for some strange reason. Many of you may have already experienced the upsetting news I’m about to share. And some of you may have caught this hub just in time to steer clear of the pitfalls. The Shocking Revelation

When I started article marketing I began submitting to popular article directories with hopes of unlimited traffic and backlinks, but oh soon enough what I found was utterly shocking! Pretty soon my time was being eaten up - turning into more of a web detective than an article writer. I soon realized that I didn’t have time for the BS and a solution was definitely needed IF I was to continue being motivated to write articles.

Here’s the dirt that I found…

→ Chopped off resource boxes!
→ Scraped content!
→ Links made inactive!
→ People stealing entire articles and having the balls to take Full Ownership!
→ No recourse of action from article directories to police these sort of actions!

Yeah I discovered a whole lot of craziness goin on that no one ever told me about. But I soon found out the hard way...

What a lot of these anonymous scumbags will do is chop off your author box. This is the prime space that is reserved for a writer at the end of an article to share a little detail about themselves as well as reference links to their website. But if this section is chopped off what credit do you get? (Hint: NOTHING!)

And some scumbags will try to be clever and copy & paste certain sections of your content and add it to their website or blog – never giving you any credit whatsoever Those slimebags! A few might link to the homepage of the article directory which does nothing for you because you get no backlink – instead the article directory does. At least the suckers could have provided a link back to the original article or author profile page – but they don’t even do that.

Links Made Inactive

And oh some will republish your article in full as directed, but still they leave off one very important element; they fail to keep the darn links active! Now guess what? You get No Backlinks to your site because those links are not ‘clickable’. Also if you used anchor text link (text linking to your site with a subject-related keyword or phrase) then guess what? No Backlinks for You!

In fact it will appear just like another word of text. Defeats the purpose right? And even if you just have your web address shown as your link, it still produces no backlink because it’s not clickable so it just turns into text content as well – and although it shows some credit, most readers will be too lazy to actually copy & paste a link into their browser just to visit your site.

People stealing entire articles and having the balls to claim full ownership!

And this could be a man or a lady with balls – I don’t care who it is; they’re all scumbags who perform this type of intellectual property theft! And that’s exactly what it is Theft! Yeah some of them will copy & paste your whole article - oftentimes just as soon as it’s released - as if they were just waiting to rob you or something.

I have found in several instances where my whole article was copied & pasted word for word with somebody else listed as the author. If I could reach into the computer screen and get hold of them I swear I would choke the shh... ok let me l calm down.

Bottom Line: After you have taken the time to do research and create an article, the last thing you want to see is someone else take full ownership of it! And the worst part about it is that you probably will never know who it is. These bums do it anonymously. Most of these incidents I have seen all usually end up being on some type of anonymous Wordpress blog plastered with tons of Google ads.

No real mediation or recourse of action from article directories

Yeah you can complain and complain and report this and that to article directories and other sources -- but they basically leave it up to you to play web detective; they don’t want to get involved with it. And as far as article directories go, all they really want to do is make money off your content by placing ads around it -- and that’s all fine & dandy, but they should at least provide some sort of protection for hardworking authors that provide their original content.
