Impact on the world

Radio announcers this morning were debating on who was if anyone bigger in the industry than Micheal Jackson. They could not come up with anyone nor could I. And the world is reacting. Now in Los Angeles people are standing outside the hospital. People were converging at Times Square in New York last night. People gathered outside the Apollo theater and chanted Micheal' s name while dancing to "Don't Stop Until You Get Enough" Many around the United States are comparing this event to the Death of Elvis Pressley.

In india his name was controversial because he was connected to a right wing Hindu nationalist party. His music is said to have influenced Bollywood music.

In Sydney Australia, the response is mixed. He was admired for his music but also scorned for his relationship with young children.

In Tokyo the fans there gave no nevermind to the scandal issues. They have been known to pay $3000.00 to go to an appreciation event with the Pop singer.

The Online community saw a surge in usage it had not see n in awhile.  It is rumored the online community heard about Micheal Jackson's death long before it was announced via TV.  TMZ.com was the first to break the news at 5:20 PM on June 25, 2009.  Then Twitter picked up the conversation.  Twitter was running slow as 30 percent of the conversations had were about Micheal Jackson.  In fact Wikipedia had 500 hits with people adding stuff to the Michael Jackson Site.

As  a ripple effect rumors about other celebrities dying began circulating including Harrison Ford and Jeff Goldblum.

Finances

Not even 24 hours after his death, we discover he has had left a huge amount of debt.  This is surprising as he has had investment in Beatles songs and in his own music recording company.  This company merged with the Sony corporation.  This corporation owns publishing rights to thousands of songs and could be worht as much as 500 thousand dollars.  Not much is known about Michael Jackson's estate or will.

Even with all of this pending reports indicate he would spend nearly 30 million dollars a year on clothing and other "necessities".  He has had a host of people help him out over the years financially.  The latest help he received was when his Neverland ranch was bought  for nearly 22 million.  A report in 2005 indicates he owed Bank of America 250 million.

Micheal Jackson was rumoured to be paid 1 million dollars per show when he began his tour in London.

This blogger is not upset at the news but rather shocked. Micheal was no doubt a great influence in our culture. Although I never owned a sequined glove I enjoyed his music as a teenager. However I grew up and he grew distant. Over the years It seems as if he took a journey from himself for one reason or another. Was there an illness he was battling? One rumour I had heard is that he suffered from Lupus. Could this attribute to his facial structure changing? Was the fame too much? I am intrigued to hearing about what made him so mysterious.

At this time the cause of death is cardiac Arrest.  The doctors at the UCLA hospital tried to resuscitate him for more than an hour.  He was pronounced dead at 2:26 PM.  Rumours I have heard from the radio indicate he had taken an injection of Demerol last evening.   CNN reports  that the police are looking for his personal physician.  His personal physicians vehicle was towed off the property  by police.  The police believe the medications in the car have something to do with his death.  At the hospital his attorney made reference to being over medicated.  Toxicology reports will not be completed for another four to six weeks.  Will keep you posted as the story develops...

TMZ reports the doctor who is being sought after is  Dr. Conrad Robert Murray.  According to this website he lives in the mansion.  When EMT's arrived on the scene, they wanted to pronounce him dead.  The Dc refused to have him pronounced dead until he went to the hospital. TMZ reports there was evidence that the doctor had been trying to revive Michaela for some time.  The drug, Lidocaine, was also reported to be on the scene.  TMZ.com will have the 911 call shortly

From the previous days, Micheal's mother has temporary custody of his children, a rumour is circulating that the kids are not even his children, and public memorial will not be held at Neverland.  Would you really want to hold a public memorial there?  It would be a fiasco... Too much space invites way too many people.  The family needs to have it structured so that chaos is limited.  I am glad they hired a public relations company.. this may help relieve the stress on the family...

No to Neverland
