"I have a dream" echoed Martin Luther King to a crowd of hopeful but passionate onlookers who firmly believed the man's message to the teeming masses despite the bleak odds , King's speech resonated throughout the country since it closely mirrored the values that the founding Fathers of the United States of America envisioned for its people.

The election of Barack Obama is not a question of his race; it never has been. America needed a Champion, a Leader because it recognized the need for change. Obama detractors have voiced their concerns that Barack Obama is setting America into the path of being a socialist state, But will America allow that? I don't believe so. The American people have spoken and their decision has been made. The fact that Obama is African American is not what was foremost on the mind of American voters; They recognized the country was in trouble and that they needed a change and Barack Obama forcefully advocated that change. The support of many intellectuals, businessmen and other prominent individuals who recognized in Obama the leader that American needed further gave the impression that something was in the air throughout these tense few months for the American people.

The appointment of Barack Obama as President will give meaning to the hardships that so many American people are going through. America is the champion of change; the reigning titan and the worlds only Superpower. Its people have recognized a responsibility to the world along with one to themselves. Maybe America had to go through these months of hardship so that she could earn a President like Barack Obama; Not because of the man himself, but what his appointment signifies. The hearts and minds of the American people have changed, It shows how much America has grown as a country. Obama's changes are risky but the American people have spoken "We are willing to take that risk" ; that shows courage and that’s a vital ingredient to success.

John McCain's role is not over, neither is that of the American people. Barack Obama is not God and the American people owe it to themselves and the rest of the world to guide the President through the decisions he has to make since by running for President he has stated that "I am capable of making the decisions that will guide America to glory". The power of the people is apparent through the different medium of Information such as the Internet where even a tool like Facebook has been used to power the American cause.

Congratulations America for taking such a courageous step. Enjoy the holidays, but the journey has only begun. Tongue in cheek "With great change comes great responsibility " and your job is not over. Guide the 44th President of the United States through the journey so that American and the World moves from the "Age of Information" to the "Age of Wisdom". The President will not be in your doorstep to shake your hand but you owe it to yourself and people nearest and dearest to you to congratulate yourself since its your voice that counted, and that shows your 'Power'

Whatever happens in the upcoming years, this day is a Historic day for America.

God Bless America and the World.
