The Elegance Of A Candle Chandelier
61They are seen in movies, television shows and usually mansions and grand hotels. They bring elegance, class and among other things, light into any room. These are none other than chandeliers. Traditionally, chandeliers have been lit with candles. The candle chandelier had been used in the medieval times. They were hung up over a beam or hook by rope or chain. Candle chandeliers were mainly used and seen in castles and those born into or living in a certain class. During this era, they were made from two pieces of wood. The wood was made into an “X” or cross like shape. Then a nail was hammered into the middle keeping the two pieces of wood together. Candles were secured on the wood by having melted candle wax to fall on each end the wood. Then each candle was stuck in the wet candle wax.
The candle chandeliers of today have come a long way. In fact, they have more class, elegance and style like never before. There are lighting companies that solely make hanging candle chandeliers. Right now, there are well over one hundred styles, shapes and designs to coincide with any size home, mansion, grand hotel, conference room or wherever a lighting fixture is required. Different materials can be used to make a wrought iron candle chandelier as well as brass, crystal, glass, gold, silver and bronze. They can have as little or as many candles made into the body as the homeowner or business desires.
There are three ways in which a candle chandelier can be made and purchased today. They can be made with real candles holders, screw in candle like glass bulbs and the new flameless candles. Any of these styles of candles are amazing to look at and choose from. The glass bulb candles can have a frosted or clean look to them. When using real candles, a homeowner might need to put out the candles with a snuffer. Using a snuffer is the way all candles have been blown out for years. They come with an 11” to 15” wand and a bell like shape to snuff out the flames. The flameless candles are battery operated and come with an available remote control to bring the flame higher or lower. Then, there are the bulbs which come in candle looking shapes. These candle chandeliers might be a little safer for larger homes or hotels. This is because larger homes and hotels, more likely than not, do not have the time to blow out each candle individually.
The prices vary quite drastically depending on what you are looking for. Some chandeliers, which could have three lights on them could cost anywhere from $269 all the way to $3,000. The prices usually depend on what materials are being used, how ornate or simple the design is and if they chandelier is custom made. When a chandelier is something a homeowner is looking into, they must know that a quality chandelier will be something to invest in and admire for years to come.
Finally, there are candle chandeliers with various styles to suit their homeowner. Some chandeliers have only three candles, while others will have twenty or more candles. Even the elegance of the chandelier will depend on what the homeowner is looking for. There are modern, contemporary, classic, rustic or you can even find an outdoor candle chandelier. The ones with roughly three candles are also known as mini fixtures, whereas the somewhat medium or larger fixtures are known as the crystal chandeliers. Whatever style a homeowner has their eye on, they are sure to find it already on the market, or they can have it designed to their liking.
