Joseph 'Run' Simmons, Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels and Jason 'Jam Master Jay' Mizell are all pioneers of Hip-Hop, Period. They did it with style and they did it with knowing their music history. They did after all name themselves The King of Rock.

Everybody knows Run DMC got "Walk This Way" from Aerosmith, but did you know...they got "Mary Mary" from THE MONKEES? Or that "It's Tricky" samples "My Sharona"?

They also starred two movies, KRUSH GROOVE and TOUGHER THAN LEATHER, not that I'm recommending them. If you wanna see a Hip-Hop movie you gotta go with WILD STYLE. anyways...
