The Evolution of the Message Board

We had a community forum here in Cartersville, GA. Cartersville, is a relatively small town, located north of Atlanta in Bartow County.

In any event, this message board closed due to some drama- not entirely certain of what transpired, but it gave way for me to forge my own board. I initiated one in the past, but it didn't get the momentum I had hoped and subsquently closed.

So, here is the revival of my old beloved board- now ripe with fresh activity from local people. I am excited and nervous at the same time. This isn't something I will make a penny on, it is just something I enjoy. My hobby.

I have just over 300 members at the time of this writing. I have been able to add some modifications and I did so all on my own. I must say I am very proud of myself. When I had the board up originally, I didn't have a clue as to what I was doing. I tried to modify some of the settings; as a result I knocked out several posts and botched up my memberlist. It was a DISASTER!!

I have a had few close calls this go around, but I have learned from past experience ALWAYS SAVE YOUR WORK!!! If I do a back up just prior to any new changes and something goes wrong- the worst that happens is I have to revert to my last back up. I dropped about 8 hours of posts when one of the modifications didn't work. Of course, the few users effected weren't happy because they lost their material- but, it was posted after 11pm and before 7am which has the least activity anyway.
