If you read a lot about the options for treating cellulite, which you probably have if youre a woman by chromosome (as opposed to man made =P), then you've probably read about these weird pants they're selling in England called Scala Bio-Fir.

The bio-fir underwear are sold at John Lewis stores in Great Britain. Sorry, us Americans dont get a crack at them yet =(. Well even the British women have a hard time buying them apparently as they are so popular they sold out! You can't even buy them on John Lewis's website. Whats so great about these "knickers" (don't you just love the British word for panties)?

When I first read about the Scala Bio-Fir panties (btw they look like a girdle), I was a little dubious. Firstly theres not much information on them other than positive, which is usually a red flag for me. Secondly they're panties, I mean really how much can panties do?

As a writer of information about the treatment for cellulite, I tend to skew my website into products which have had good reviews. To be quite honest most products that received positive results are subjective, meaning the women that liked the product have probably convinced themselves they worked. But hey.. isn't there something to say about perceived results? If someone percieves something to be working, its working! So back to the panties, which turned out to have so many positive reviews I had to write about them again. Maybe enough will be written that John Lewis will have to start shipping Stateside!

When I began my little journey into cellulite research, I realized that its a big concern with most women. I have it but quite frankly I couldn't care less if I have it. The majority of women have cellulite, 90% of us ladies, yes 90%. The sad part is that noone even cared about cellulite until stupid Vogue made a big fuss about it in the 70s.

So let me preface my positive review about the Scala Bio-Fir pants and how they work with: Who freakin cares if you have cellulite? Its natural! I hope that you heed my advice, and Kim Kardashian's, and learn to love your dimples, but if you don't .. read on!

To understand how and why the Scala-Bio Fir pants might work, its important to understand what researchers believe cellulite is and how it can be fixed. Again prefacing this with: might, because so far all research is inconclusive.

So cellulite is that dimpled flesh that women get mostly around the buttocks area. It occurs when tissue holding fat cells together push the fat cells to the top of the skin. You see it more often in women because we have softer and thinner skin. Most researchers believe that cellulite can be cured, or the visibility reduced, by reducing the number of fat or amount of fat that is being held by the connective tissue closest to the skin's outer layer and by improving circulation. How is fat reduced? By heat, massage, exercise, diet etc. And thats where the panties from Scala come in.

The Scala Bio-Fir panties have some sort of subtle heating element. I don't mean youre wearing a toaster oven on your butt, but a sort of herbal crystal that when in contact with the skin heats up. Since I haven't tried the pants I'd imagine they're more like a heating pad on low heat. The claim is that the heat melts fat and promotes circulation. Do they work? I can't say with 100% certainty. Let me put it to you this way: Forty out of 50 women said they saw visible results, thats a better record than anything I've researched and they sold out in England.
