The Best and Worst Films of 2006
53For the next 28 Days we will be counting back one year at a time Films from the years 2007-1980!
Same non-rules as yesterday which were:
The incomplete list promotes more feedback for three reasons:
1) You guys can save me the trouble of seeing films like Bobby or The Fountain which you're welcome to defend, if you dare. If something is listed on the bottom as still need to see and enough of you say it sucks, then you guys decide where it goes at the bottom of the list, I got better things to do.
2) You can recommend the next film I see. I'll publish all you're suggestions as long as you don't spoil the plot. Feel free to gimme your favorite quotes or scenes to the ones I have ranked or argue the validity of said rankings.
3) Most important though is you'll be able to come back later knowing that the list will have been updated since I watch 2 films a day if I can. (One during bagels at breakfast and one after dinner since the writer's strike.)

Thanks for stopping by again jormins.
It's funny you commented on that because I actually already saw as much of "Deliver Us From Evil" as I'm ever going to. I rented it, watch about 15 minutes of it and was so sickly creeped out that I had to shut it off. Pediphiles & religion are a tough sell as a movie in general. Because no matter what the attacks will swiftly from the far right. And no matter how concerned people feel for the victims, they often don't wanna hear their cries in a documentary format. They prefer it to watch it on Law and Order: SVU where it can be safely dispensed and on this subject I'm in the majority. Wow...it feels weird over here :0)
All you can do is just pray that the film will somehow help someone else.
Re: V for Vendetta you are out of your head on that. It is awesome, just like their other movie THE MATRIX. You can never go wrong selling me the 'oppressed society rising up against tyranny' kind of movie. I love 'em all. I love even like the cheesy ones like NO ESCAPE with Ray Liotta & Kevin Dillon.
Logan's Run, Brazil, Shawshank, Great Escape, 12 Monkeys, Do the Right Thing, Empire of the Sun, Das Experiment, Network, etc.
Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite book like this and I often wonder if he started the genre.

Deliver Us From Evil is a must see. Its a sickening film but its something people should know about the Church (if they're Catholic as I am). I also liked Hollywoodland as well even though I don't like Adrien Brody much at all.
Only film I wasn't crazy about was V for Vendetta, I liked some parts of the movie but it quickly lost my interest. I also think Portman hasn't had a good acting performance since she was in The Professional so that might have helped my dislike for that movie.
