1. Cirque Lodge
Cirque Lodge, Robert Redford's Sundance, Utah, resort, comes complete with gyms, saunas, fireplaces, Jacuzzis and media rooms. The mountaintop rehab center, in the news when it was visited by Lindsay Lohan, Mary Kate Olsen and Kirsten Dunst, is luxury personified, but staffed with octors and nurses who provide care during detox. A 30-day stay will run you about $26,000.
2. The Mother of All Rehab Centers
You'll live like a spartan if you check into the Betty Ford Center, the mother of all rehab centers, created by the former First Lady. This center, located on 14 acres in gorgeous Rancho Mirage, Calif., is serious about assisting you in kicking your habit. No divas here -- patients (Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson included) are expected to make their own beds and perform chores. The 80-bed Center carefully screens its guests before admission, and charges one of the lowest rates around -- only $6,000 for a 30-day stay.
3. Liza Minnelli's Fave
Both Miss USA and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler battled their demons at the Caron Foundation in Wernersville, Pa. This center has become known as the rehab clinic to the rich and famous who are serious about getting clean. The Caron center costs an average of $24,000 per 30-day stay, and treated Liza Minnelli, who said the place saved her life. Caron treats about 1,100 adults and 425 adolescents a year.
4. Break Habits at Promises
One of the most popular brands in celebrity rehab is Promises in Malibu, most recently visited by Britney Spears. The oceanside center costs about $8,855 per week, and provides treatment programs for cocaine, alcohol and heroin addition in ultra-posh surroundings. Promises admits about 400 people each year, including other well-known visitors Ben Affleck, Eminem, Keith Urban and Robert Downey Jr.
5. Eric Clapton's Place
When rocker Eric Clapton went clean, he founded the the beautiful Crossroads Centre on the island of Antigua, a non-profit center for the treatment of alcohol and other drug addictions. You can check in or get outpatient services from Crossroads, which uses a 12-step model of abstinence. But don't be fooled -- Crossroads also offers you spa treatments, yoga, massage, and meditation.
