#1-Samll Town Folk

Independent director Peter Stanley-Ward brings us this silly fantasy horror. Originally the film shot in the UK, was suppose to be a short intended to attract funding for a production. The film blew up on the Internet and the rest is history.

The film centers around three young people that stumble onto a beautiful meadow where the lonely Beesley’s Manor sits. Inside is a Texas Chainsaw Massacre like group headed by the crazed Landlord. The group fights to stay alive while being chased and taunted by the deranged family.

I chose this movie for it’s absolutely silly trailer of Landord sing in a very old fashioned way, followed by clips of deranged, dirty looking goons.

#2-Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer

The name says it all in this funny Canadian horror comedy by director Jon Knautz.

The film released in October is about Jack Brooks, a man who is going through life feeling guilty about running away as a child when his parents where killed by what can only be described as a monster.

During a routine stop to fix a college professor’s pipes, he accidentally digs up an ancient evil. The professor is then possessed by a demonic heart, which slowly transforms him into a monster. So he has to make a choice, stay and fight, or run like hell.

I list this because it’s silly name, premise and trailer makes this film out to be a real riot.

Trevor Matthews, Robert Englund, Rachel Skarsten, James A. Woods

Daniel Kash, Ashley Bryant, Stefanie Drummond, Meghanne Kessels

#3-Gutterballs

Director Ryan Nicholson coming straight off the release of Live Feed is releasing his crazy low budget horror comedy shot completely in a bowling alley.

The story surrounds two groups of rival bowling leagues that meet at a bowling alley after hours, and are murdered by a masked killer in a bowling glove.

I chose this film for it’s bizarre premise and crazy looking movie trailer.

Nathan Dashwood, Trevor Gemma, Wade Gibb

When six troubled teens returning from a character building retreat crash their bus they run into a real group of... well... characters. They become first courted by, then attacked by undead trailer trash. Lead by Norma, the hot faceless, comics' Crypt Keeper like character.
