Dagaz walked back up the stairs, coming before his Lord, bowing once more holding the hilt of his unsheathed sword in both hands its blade tip resting upon the stone.
"Rise Dagaz" Dagaz did as ordered yet he could not look his king face on. He listened as the King continued, now that the servant of his will was standing once more.
" You are showing increasing promise with your ability's to learn and understand. Soon you will be fit for battle. Yet you must first learn about that which you seek to destroy, before rushing head long into battle. It is this that separates you from a mindless ghoul and the foolish mortals of the scarlet crusade, who with mention of the scourge begin to froth at the face like a hound with the rabid's, rushing head long with no thought, straight into the open arms of death that await them upon the fields of battle."
Dagaz nodded in an affirmative answer to the unasked question of his understanding of the strategic lesson just given.
"Far above us Death Knight, towering above this platform is the Eye of Acherus. From it you will call forth a probe that you will then use to analyse the Scarlet Crusade fortifications at New Avalon. With the eye of Acherus all is laid bear before its site through this power, you will gain knowledge which is a power unto its self. I shall grant you this gift for your loyal service, In doing so you shall serve the purpose of my will. That gift being sight into the territories held by our enemies. What the eye see's, I see, and now the time has come for you to peer through the eye! To either side of us you see the pedestals ? "
Dagaz looked seeing the Balcony swept outward forming a gentle round m shape. Closest to the Balcony railing on either side stood a finely carved pedestal, wrought of a black metal that was nether matt nor shiny. Upon these sat a globe of control.
" You shall go to one and lay your hands upon it. In doing so you shall be able to focus the eye upon the town of New Avalon to the North East of us.
Seek out and learn the resources left to them, tools Armour and weapons, the Forge will hold such information. You must also learn what plans they have under way, what number of forces they have and battle plans, this you shall gain from within the Scarlet Strong Hold. As for the residents of New Avalon learn what plans are being formulated for their safe keeping. The Mayor shall hold this knowledge within the Town hall. You must also learn to what decree, both knowdlge and power the Priests and Healers hold within their power. Seek out the chapel for there you will find the towns soul . Your mind shall be your guide, your will, is the power by which you move and react. Your sight can meld with the shadows, Yet you will be revelled to gain the information you shall seek, In doing so you shall be a target for those that guard each building. Summon forth ghouls this will give the guards something to play with, while you gather the information I shall require for a later purpose."
With a gesture of the kings hand, Dagaz knew he had been dismissed, to carry out the task set before him. As he turned and walked to the left side of the balcony, he knew this was yet another test of his will and mind. He did not like the thought of what the Linch King would do should he fail, There fore he would not. How he would pass this test was still uncertain to him, yet he knew where there is a will there is a way, and he was sure if the King felt this was beyond his growing yet limited powers, he would not have set such a task, or test for him.

Now standing before the globe of sight, Dagaz did as instructed. He placed his hands one on either side of the globe, he took a deep inhalation, as he breathed out slowly. Dagaz looked into the depths, while he focused his mind upon the globe of sight.
A feeling of acceleration washed over him as he felt his mind expanding, beyond itself beyond his own body, then it seemed to narrow as if closing to a point of focus. This was quickly followed by a more unnerving sensation as if he was now adrift, disembodied, yet at the same time he knew he was not. A slight feeling of nausea rose within him, as he felt himself moving with his vision and mind, leaving his body where it stood, feeling connected to it, yet separated. As his mind moved forward and down sweeping over all below. He could feel himself traveling yet it was like moving thorough a thick fog not being able to see further ahead to his destination, yet guided the eye of seeing with his will and sense of purpose to the destination assigned to him. Then it was if his sight had now taken focus, as it did he saw he glided through the gateway into The Town of New Avalon.
He focused upon that which he sort, he felt himself turning to the left, and looking down. There his first target awaited the Black smith, Outside stood four guards. as he unfolded the shadows before him the guards saw him, and for a quarter of a second Dagaz saw himself as if looking through their eyes up at him, To them he appeared as the eye of sight. they began to fire arrows up at his avatar. Yet he was out of reach, which also meant he was out of reach to gain the information he required from the black smith. He willed himself forth and as he did, he willed for a distraction, no sooner than he had done so four ghouls pulled themselves up and out of the earth the guards had no other choice but to engage them, while they had their hands full it was a simple matter of obtaining the information he was asked to fetch. like a wisp of smoke he felt his mind enter the mind of the blacksmith and then in turn the quarter master assigned to the smith. Reading their thoughts he found the knowledge he sort, it was so easy and without effort that Dagaz felt surprise. He had thought it would have been more difficult to accomplish his goal. Once done Dagaz set his mind to the next target.
To the south east and up a a gentle slope of a hill of lush green grass, a cobbled path lead to the Scarlet Keep. Dagaz moved in, though he had allowed himself to become a bit over self confident, and was lower than he first thought. At the sight of his approach marksmen fired their arrows, these hit his current form. With each hit it felt as if a bolt of lighting struck his mind. Dagaz panicked, and floundered allowing a few more hits into his mind before he quickly lifted up out of their range of fire. his head now pounding from the brief on onslaught . He thought for a moment, he would lose both focus and will and thus fail his test and task. he slowed his mind and breathing, till once more he was in control.
He chided himself for his foolishness, before allowing himself to lower once more, this time he wrapped shadows around him hiding himself till the last moment reviling himself as he called forth his distraction. Six Ghouls quickly rose taking the guards by surprise, The guards yelled for those guards just within the keeps arched doorway to come lend aide. Dagaz knew he had to move quickly now. Reaching out with is mind once more he found the few that held the knowledge he sought and in revenge for the attack upon his own mind, he did not take the knowledge from those that held it gently as he had with the Blacksmith and Scarlet quarter master. This time he inflicted pain a sense of self satisfaction came upon him as he lifted his globe of sight once more and away. This time to the west over one of the homes to the Town hall. Once more dispatching a distraction, his mind reaching into the mind of the towns Mayor. This time he delved deep into his memories and what he found within them was not so surprising, as amusing. the Mayor was a man who knew how to manipulate others into doing what he wanted, and how he wanted. He had twisted ways of getting the results he sort, Yet alas, thought Dagaz this was no time to idle. As he lifted his mind once more high over the town and looked about. Spying the steeple to the church at the furthest point on the towns southern edge. He wrapped himself in shadows. for he knew he would need to move and act with haste and with caution.
He moved in on the church and as before came out from the shadows at the same time his summoned ghouls to leap from the very ground once more taking those that guarded by surprise. Yet this time was to prove most difficult, as the guards fought the ghoul's, two of the scarlet' priests came forth and sent their bolt's of holy light the first two missed the third hit, and this time it was not just a pain within his mind. He felt his whole body rebound with the shock of the hit. Dagaz thought quickly directing two ghouls to attack the priests. The guards still focusing upon the ghouls then were forced to redoubling their efforts in killing the ghouls thinking their priest would die if left unprotected, this gave Dagaz the few moments he needed to reach into the Minds he sought and ripped the information out of them. One of the knowledge carriers died instantly with the shock of such brutal force of attack upon her mind, while the other dropped to the ground screaming his head held within his hands. Yet Dagaz did not care, he need not stay a moment longer. Withdrawing his mind he found himself once more upon the balcony. his hands either side of the globe of sight.

Returning and bowing before his King, he waited a few moments. "There that presence... I have not felt it in many years. One I thought I had vanquished many years ago, no matter I shall see to it in due course. First things first... to wipe the scarlet crusade fools from the face of the earth once and for all" At first Dagaz thought the King was addressing him and wondered why he chose to impart such knowledge. Then he realized he had over heard a thought as he felt the presence of the Linch King within his mind, taking all that Dagaz had seen and the information that he had gathered.
" Stand Dagaz, once more you have proven your self worthy and carried out my will with exacting precession. I give to you the words that will start a war. My final judgment has been passed: Death, To All. None shall stand so boldly against the might of the Scourge without reprisal! As you have served me well in your last task, so too shall you serve me in your next task. Take my judgment report to, High Lord Mograine you shall find him upon the lower floor, in the hall of Command. Inform him to begin the assault " as if answering the unasked question the Lich King added in a dismissing tone " To get there is simple step onto the shadow portal" Again Dagaz felt the kings icy crisp withdraw dismissing him by will, and not by word.
He walked off with his new task, as he did what appeared to be a newly re born death Knight passed him. Just as Dagaz reached the top of the stairs, he heard from behind him the voice of the King, this time it spoke with an anger within the tone and timber of the kings voice, " What is this ?..." There came no audible answer.
Dagaz could not help himself, but turn and observe. There suspended and hanging in mid air by the Lich Kings force of will alone was the Death Knight. The fury of the king was palpable even from this distance,.
"PITY ?..." the word was roared like that of a beast just wounded, " I shall show you what it is to have no pity" the Kings voice was now like the roar of a howling wind and appeared to in part have the same force as Dagaz could see the Knights Armour move back, compressing upon the body, within the metal plate shell.
Dagaz shuddered for the first time, as he saw the event unfold. The King stood, His long unkept hair blowing in the wind. His face hidden beneath his black helm, of which the skull cap formed what looked to be a crown of black ice upon his head. wisps of the power that laid within, rose from the skulls eyes that adorned his Shoulder pauldrons. His cape lifting and lowering in the eddy of the wind, as a fog of frost was blown from where the Kings mouth was hidden from view, onto and around the Knight, covering him in a shroud, hiding him from all sight within the storm of Wrath of which there was no escape from. When it had cleared, the Knight appeared as if he had been carved in exacting detail from an ice crystal. He hung but a moment longer before he dropped to the stone floor shattering into hundreds of pieces. Dagaz made haste down the flight of stairs and onto the dais that was the shadow portal,. He had not realised he was holding his breath. As he breathed a great sigh of relief finding himself upon the floor below the one, he had just left. He exhaled and then took a slow deep breath in, for the fury of the King along with the power within it was like a ferocious winter blizzard, and he half suspected, if he had stayed a moment longer the king would have turned his cold fury onto him.
As Dagaz stood there catching his breath he knew what it was to fear for the first time in Ebon Hold. He stood motionless allowing his heart to slow its pounding in his chest.Which gave him a chance to take in the surrounding's of the hall spread out before and about him.
