The 2010 Camaro

Here are a few things I have found out about the new Camaro,some are good and some of them not so good.I will list at least what I thought was the best features about the the Camaro first.I first saw the new Camaro about 2 years ago at the SEMA show in LasVegas and it was just not very appealing to me then but GM has made some changes and it does look better.Anyway the good things about the car I will give a short review and do the same thing with the not so good things.

Some of the best things about the 2010 Camaro are;

1) The price tag with the LS-2 and 6 speed auto or stick,with the auto you get paddle shifters that work exceptional good.

2) You can start the Camaro From @ 300 feet with the factory remote,sensor located behind windshield.

3) No spare tire,instead uses a electric air compressor with 2 nozzles, 1 for air, the other has a tire sealer, they are marked

4) Trunk mount battery,helps with weight distribution,located in spare tire well, has termials under hood for jump start or charging.

5) The USB port in the center console for I-Pod or MP3 player

6) The doors on the new Camaro have 2 striker posts ,which help with the side impact crash test.Scored very high.

Here are the things I did not like about the new Camaro;

1) The fake scoop in the fascia, ( only on SS models) goes nowhere.

2) No trunk lock on the outside,remote or crawl in back,pull cable,if battery in remote dies you know what that means.

3) 1 hood stut to hold up that long hood,you know that want last long.

4) No navagation available,GM promotes On Star,company owned.

5) Thought GM would learn from Ford on the IRS,03 and 04 Cobras You have way to much weight and its going to break,this rearend is unique to this car. Mustang GT has better handling numbers with live axle.

6) The rear quarter panel on the new Camaro is almost 10 feet long ,I think that would be one expensive repair if it got damaged plus a body mans nightmare.

7) About the new Camaro dislikes are the fact that GM scraped the Z/28 program because of goverment intervention in Feb.09,could you see a Z/28 Camaro with the supercharged ,LS-9 from the Cadillac CTS-V,what a monster that would have been.

8) Have you driven the new Camaro? Well, one more thing I would like to add about dislikes is the steering wheel.This is very different,to say the least.The center of the steering wheel is 11/2 inches below center of the steering wheel,I know that sounds strange,but wait and drive one.This is the biggest complaint I have heard about the car so far.What were the engineers thinking or were they?

I really do like this car,I just looked at it a different way.I didnt mention the wheel weights mounted on the inboard side of the front brake calipers,I guess its for some kind of damping.As for choosing between auto or stick,I would take the auto.Sure you give up a little bit of power,but you know a motor that makes a lot of torque and a heavy car is hard on clutches and drive train components.

The new 2012 Camaro convertible is due to began production in the first quarter of 2011 in GMs plant in Oshawa,Ontario.The convertible should be in dealerships by Febuary.

how come bumble bee from transformers looks so much better than the "top" SS model? Bumble Bee gets a way cooler bumper facia, aswell as a REAL hood scoop, and some pretty darn nice rims to boot. The rims might be impractical for anything but show reasons, but the bumper and hood scoop? that'd be easy for GM to put on the car... and it looks 10 times better.

Check it out and compare them! http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/jalopnik/200 and http://jalopnik.com/assets/images/jalopnik/2008/09

Like you said, sorry GM, Ford's got you beat on this one.. even with "only" 315 hp.
