Exploring the Potential of Being Very Sensitive

Life can be confusing and even painful to the sensitive child or adult who is living without insights into the purpose and potential of his or her heightened perception.

The grief, anger, anxiety, hopelessness, and frustration that millions of highly sensitive kids and adults feel about life and the world can be transcended, leading into more peaceful states of consciousness like courage, acceptance, unconditional love, joy and bliss.

Getting from Pain to Potential

If you are hurting, there is a silver lining. Our higher consciousness knows that change agents can wake us up so we remember who we are and what we are capable of. Pain and challenge are very effective change agents.

Why pain? Why challenge?

The reality of human nature is that people are more motivated to grow from pain and challenge than to grow when feeling comfortable. Challenges can keep us returning to our innate desire for strong spiritual connection, which compels a lot of us toward prayer, time in nature or other ways of meeting divinity. Emotional triggers can overwhelm us for the rest of our days, or they can be the breakthrough that make us seek help and learn how to lessen the emotional pain response.

Learning what pain and challenge are showing us about what we can heal inside ourselves frees us to feel better about life and gives us the courage and energy to express our essence once again. This emotional freedom unlocks the peace that we have waiting within us. When we allow that peace to bubble up, we bring heaven right here to Earth.

Highly sensitive people might very well sense, feel, and innately "know" things more clearly than the greater population for a distinct purpose. The grand plan for our internal sensory ability could be to guide us to people, places and events that help us stay pure of mind and heart and focused on our passion, creativity and destiny. With this preserved innocence of mind we can hear our inner voice without distraction. Our senses, if we listen to them, lead us to align ourselves with our true nature.

A sensitive person's innocence can be like a child's. It sees things with wonder and hope. Preserving this purity of spirit keeps the sensitive person attuned to his or her inner knowing of what is false and detrimental so that he or she can become peaceful leaders. This is the result of coming into alignment with higher levels of consciousness. The more that sensitive people raise their own levels of consciousness, the less the world as a whole suffers.

What Does the Future Hold?

Creativity, inspiration, intuition, heart-centered decisions are showing up in larger pockets around the globe. There is a popularity of themes about higher perceptivity showing up in books, television shows and movies. If we ever wonder what the future holds, we can look within to develop our own individual potential, all the while noticing outer trends in the world that help us measure where things are going on a planetary level.
