The director Stephen Herek will direct the film version of the famous series of 80 Years The Greatest American Hero, in the original version (RalphSuperMaxiEroe for the italian people).

In the original series, William Katt dressed clothes teacher Ralph Hinkley. The couple becomes a real superhero thanks to the powers that stem from a red alien costume, which, however, have lost the instruction manual. Hinkley joins forces with FBI agent Bill Maxwell. With the help of girlfriend Pam, the trio fights crime.

Herek has no official name for the role of Ralph and Bill, but for now we know that the two will have to contend with a rival named Harvey Lundy, another teacher of the school of Ralph, which is in fact a representative intergalactic of miners.

Shooting of the film will begin this July in Arizona.
