#1 Daryl Hall from the best selling duo Hall and Oates has made some of the best rock and soul songs from the 1970's and 1980's. I think the best song from Daryl Hall would have to be "Sara Smile" or "One on One" or maybe "Cab Driver" from his solo album, "Can't Stop Dreaming". He has such a soul defined voice and is such a great performer. He has collaborated with numerous bands and musicians. He even has a show right in his living room where he collaborates with artist, doing his own songs, cover songs, and the guest's songs as well, performing together. I always enjoy a performance from Daryl Hall, if you've seen Live from Troubador, or Our Kind of Soul, you can see his passion for music. He is a talented musician and I hope he keeps putting out albums.

#2Roger Daltrey from the greatest British rock band The Who. He has sung so many great songs the list could go on forever. Although I would probably have to say "Love Reign O'er Me" or "Squeeze Box" would be the best songs sung by Roger Daltrey, Well I have several favourite songs from The Who it's really hard to choose. He shows off his beautiful voice on "See Me Feel Me" or "Behind Blue Eyes" and who doesn't enjoy the song "Who are You"? His voice is a major part of The Who and I enjoy watching him swing the microphone on stage.

#3 Al Green has such a gorgeous voice. I would have to say he is and always will be the best soul and gospel singer. No one can compare to his music the way he sings so beautifully. He has influenced many singers over the years. He has so many great songs such as "Let's Stay Together" and "I'm Still In Love With You". Al Green always shows his emotion whenever he sings. He has made great albums and recently had an album with some good collaborations. His music remains timeless and real good music.

#4 Todd Rundgren, whether he's solo or his earlier music from Utopia. I could Listen to Todd Rundgren's albums all day and never be tired of it. His Music is like a painting, it's very intriguing and beautifully crafted. Not to mention this guy usually plays all the instruments on his albums. He has influenced me to do the same. He is well known for his classics such as, "Hello It's Me, "Can We Still Be Friends" and "Bang The Drums All Day". I also like the song "We gotta get You A woman". He's such a great guitarist and pianist as well, but I do Love his voice. He has so many songs and keeps them coming!

#5 Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin has written and sung some great songs of course! I love "The Battle of Evermore", "The Ocean", "Misty Mountain Hop", and "Going To California" but I think the song that really gives him a voice is "Kashmir". He also had some great solo albums as well. More recently he teamed up with T-Bone Burnett and Alison Krauss on the Grammy award winning album Raising Sand. Over the Years he has put out some great music along side his fellow bandmates from Led Zeppelin and I love his music from each decade 1960's and so on.

I could list a lot of favourite male singers, like Jim Morrison, Marvin Gaye, Steven Tyler, Van Morrison, David Bowie, and so on. I love almost all of Van Morrison's songs like "Warm Love" and "Domino" and I love the Doors, "Break on Through" and "L.A. Woman". I also like Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" and "Mercy Me". David Bowie is also a great singer with songs like "Heros" and "Fame" I actually like all or most of David Bowie's music. There are great talented male vocalists, past and present that I love and their music lives on forever.

Although your list is pretty good I think you missed some great singers. Robert Lamm of Chicago being one of the best. Tommy Shaw (and with Jack Blades) is super-remarkable. Darryl Hall and even little Robert Plant can't hit those high notes that Tommy can. Todd Rundgren? Mark Farner got him beat. YEAH!

I don't like Robert Lamm that much so he doesn't make the list. Tommy Shaw is ok. Todd Rundgren is way better than Mark Farner. My Opinion though! Daryl can Hit the high notes and obviously is talented! Robert Plant still has a great voice.

You've definitely got almost all of my faves listed. I would have to add Freddie Mercury of Queen -- he had one amazing set of pipes. And (I know not everyone likes his voice but man, it gets me hawt) is Paul Rodgers of Free and Bad Company. And Steve Perry of Journey -- don't love the band but do love his voice.

Isn't it interesting that NONE of your picks (or mine) are recent artists, all "vintage." What does that tell you??

I can't believe I forgot about my Paul Rodgers. Freddie Mercury is good but Paul is Better! A lot of people think I'm much older than I really am. I just don't like the new stuff that much.
