The Grim Grotto Summary
70
The Grim Grotto starts from book ten were the Baudelaires are going down the Stricken Stream. Out of nowhere a periscope pops up. Then a submarine surfaces with a wet steel tint to it. The Capt. asks for a password. Violet answers the question by saying "The world is quiet here." The Capt. then asked, "Friend or Foe," which they answered easily "Friend." Then the Children entered the Queequeg. "3 people operated the Queequeg" said the Capt. Widdershins, his daughter, the cook, Phil and himself. The daughter's name is Fiona, Fiona is a mycologist -- in other words, a specialist on mushrooms. They then all went down the Stricken Stream into the ocean in the Queequeg.
Klaus studied the sea charts to determine the resting place of the Sugar Bowl. "The sugar bowl is very important," said the Capt. Finally Klaus concluded that the Sugar Bowl should be somewhere in the Grim Grotto. So they change course towards the Grim Grotto. That is when they got the sub stuck in the mouth of the Grim Grotto. So the children, Baudelaires and Fiona, headed down to the through of the Grim Grotto in wet suits.
After a long time the children enter a cavern full of sand and air, like an underwater cave. They begin searching for the Sugar Bowl but found every other object. Out of nowhere the Medusoid Mycelium mushrooms sprouted up. "The mushrooms can kill in less than 1 hour," said Fiona. "The Medusoid mushroom is only located here because it never has escape the Grim Grotto," said Fiona.
So the kids began resting and waited for the mushrooms to wither. When the Medusoid Mycelium mushrooms finally withered all the children hurried back in to the pitch-blackness of the Grim Grotto's entrance. When they left they took a few pieces of information and objects with them, like wasabi and a letter.
Half way up the children heard Sunny wheezing in her helmet and suddenly realized that the Medusoid Mycelium mushrooms are in her helmet. The children began to swim faster so that they might aid their sister. They soon come back to the sub were they found out that the door is locked and no one is answering their calls.
When they finally got in with Fiona's help they realize that the crew had left.
So they began arguing on what to do next to help Sunny. Fiona says, " We should get the sub moving and I will look through my mushroom books for a cure." That when they noticed on the sonar that another sub was rapidly approaching. That is when the other sub, in the shape of an octopus, swallows the Queequeg whole. Then Count Olaf broke through the door with a large sword.
He then instructed the kids to follow him to the brig places were people are held and forced to tell the secret of where the Sugar Bowl is. Amazingly the Hook Handed man was the long lost brother of Fiona. That is when they conjured up a plan to get them out of the brig and back on the Queequeg. So the kids began sneaking back to the Queequeg when Fiona and The Hook Handed Man instructed them to continue. The kids then got back to the Queequeg and begin researching an antidote. They soon found it the information on the antidote. The antidote is horseradish but they don't have any. That's when they figured out that the wasabi that Violet had been carrying would do the job just fine.
So they opened the helmet and gave Sunny a spoon full of wasabi and then each other. They soon see the Medusoid Mycelium mushroom shriveling away.
Then breaking the silence the telegram machine began writing a letter. The letter is for the Baudelaires, so they began reading the text on the telegram. The Telegram had a few coordinates. That is when again out of nowhere, Count Olaf appears. Fiona lets the Bauldelaries escape. They then head for the coordinates mentioned on the telegram.
When they arrived they headed up the beach to find Mr. Poe, their caretaker. They then refused to go with him and instead headed into an awaiting taxi. The taxi driver is Kit Snicket.
This is the end of the book and I don't know what happens next but I am waiting for the next chapter.

You've got alot of the information wrong..
Hey Austin what did I get wrong? Also alot is two words for example a lot. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year.
you got a lot of things wrong. NEXT TIME READ THE WHOLE STORY BEFORE WRITTING A REPORT!
Okay if I got something wrong with the book summary tell me what it is instead of "you're wrong."
What facts are wrong in this summary? I read the book a while ago and needed to refresh my memory. I came across this page and looked it over. It was very helpful and thank you very much. You left out a little bit like all of the events going on in Olaf's ship, however none of the facts you listed were incorrect.
WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD NAME FOR A CEREAL BOX BOOK REPORT ON THIS BOOK ?
