When making the decision on purchasing a boat, you have alot of important options to consider.  Is it going to be a boat for you and your buddies to fish with? Are you buying a family boat to enjoy water activities, and cruise around?  Is your boat purchase going to be your new home?  With a new boat purchase you must ask yourself these questions before the sale is final.

Depending on what your main purpose for the use of the boat is, companies today offer a large variety of styles to choose from.  If you like to fish, then your typical purchase would be a fishing boat.  But which type of fishing boat do you buy?  A fishing boat could be a flats boat, center console, or a bass boat....just to name a few.  Each type of fishing boat is designed specifically for the different bodies of water they will travel in.

Say you are looking to purchase a boat to have some family fun, and keep them comfortable at the same time.  Some great picks of family boats include bow riders, deck boats, or a cuddy cabin.  These are great boats for cruising, and to be used for a variety of different water sport activities.  They are definitely a comfortable ride for your family, and some even offer cabins which are built into the hull of the boat.  These cabins can come in handy if you have young children as passengers, or if you want to just relax and get out of the sun.

Now if you are looking to sell everything, and commit to a life on the water then you would be looking to purchase a house boat or a yacht.  Both offer the modern day amenities needed to live on the water.  With spacious floor plans they can easily accommodate family living.  Houseboats are designed to offer a lifestyle to living on the water, best suited for docking in rivers, or on a lake.  Yachts on the other hand hand are capable to cruise the ocean waters and still provide luxurious living and comfort for your family.

The decision to buy a boat is not an easy one.  I've only discussed a few options the boating world has to offer.  Consider doing some heavy research, and always consult an experienced boater before making that decision.
