Let me start by saying that I do not usually follow or believe in the paranormal. But, I have come to believe that my office was occupied by a ghost! Mysterious, but never physically scary, things have happened there.

Through the years in the late summer and into September my computer systems would go haywire. For no reason at all! Network connections would just drop with the system saying the connection had been unplugged, in my office, right behind my desk. I would check the connection, it would be out if the jack, then the system would say reconnected before I connect the cable. I would look back over my shoulder and the cable would be in the jack. Ok, I thought, this is just me; just a fluke. This kind of thing continued for about a month and then the symptoms vanished.

Another time during this particular time frame, my lights would go out in my office, only my office, not the office beside me, but my office. The light switch is an automatic switch that can not be turned on or off manually, but is motion sensitive and will go off if there is no movement for fifteen minutes. Unexplainable and eerie, but I had no idea why this was happening. I couldn't imagine that a ghost could be present. I was still in denial at this point.

This type of fluke continued to happen for two years in a row; but, only during this time frame. Various system malfunctions with varying degrees of complexity. Then, the third year hit and I had already decided there was a pattern and was more watchful and kind of waiting for things to happen. I am not sure if I was being too watchful and maybe a bit paranoid, but it happened. I felt the presence of the ghost. I felt him in my office over my shoulder and the keys on my pc starting moving but I was not typing and ITS was not virtual, databases starting popping up and crazy, military like code was flying across the screen. All HELL broke loose! Every system, every PC, every database, every meter I had running in that building went crazy, some even crashed. Did I mention that all administrator passwords were still in his name? He had created such a spider web of systems that even the statewide ITS department was afraid to change his password.

By now I was beside myself, wondering what in the world am I going to do. How can I even begin to explain this mayhem to my superiors and if I did would they think I was crazy and want to have me committed. The code that was flying was way over my head, not any computer language I had ever seen. About that time I was paged overhead, "LeaAnne line 1, LeaAnne line 1". Who could possibly be calling at such a time. I am in a mess. I can not talk, I can not even think straight. I answered anyway, it was my predecessor. I had worked with her prior to her leaving the agency and we had a great relationship. She said that I was on her mind really strongly and she felt she needed to call me. After a bit of conversation, of course I did not want to tell "her" what was going on, she, in a very casual way, asked if we had been having any problems with our server or network systems. I was awestruck. "How did you know?"

The story begins. Well, it seems that her predecessor had been murdered five years prior, to the day....she felt she needed to warn me that strange and mysterious things had always happened on that day and the days leading up to the day of his death anniversary. You could have knocked me over with a feather. It was a GHOST!

Ok, I am not having this! Enough is enough. He has played with me for several years because I was in his old office. But, now, he is out to get me because I am doing his job. He was a genius at networking and computer programming, but that is another story. I called a good friend that works in the agency, that was in divinity school at that time, to help me out. He tells the story that I was quit serious in my request for his help and really would not take no for an answer. He was in the middle of a conversation with a co-worker and I just jutted right in, interrupting, unlike me under normal circumstances, but I needed his help. I asked him to come pray over my office and pray over the computer systems. He was uncertain as to why I wanted him to do this, but being the good friend that he is, he came to my rescue. He asked that all evil spirits be rid of this office. This prayer went on for; it seemed like, ten minutes. It was almost instantly, the systems came back up. I did have to reprogram the one application that crashed, but he was gone.

The background on the murder

So the story goes this Fella was molesting his granddaughter. The granddaughter told her mother, who in turn had also been molested by him as child. The son-in-law heard the conversation, left in a rage going to this Fella's house.

He was shot in the chest with a 12 gauge.
