Regardless of what business it is that you are currently involved with, learning the art of ezine advertising is a skill that will earn you alot of money over time. dRather than the so-called adblasts that send your ad to junk mailboxes all over the planet, your ad is now submitted to real optin ezine subscribers who actually read their mail.

Is E-Zine Advertising Effective?

Targeted ezine advertising is one of the most effective means of marketing on the Internet. It has a greater potential for ROI (return on investment) than most other forms of advertising. E-zine advertising is being overlooked by many due to the lack of knowledge and understanding in how and where to advertise in E-Zines.

Your ad should contain a strong call to action so that the responses that you receive from your e-zine ad are essentially already qualified clients/leads. The clients/leads will often become your best customers.

How to Build an Effective Campaign

  • Use Strong Ad Copy. If this is not your forte, employ the assistance of others if necessary. At the very least, look at the ads of others and get an idea of what catches your attention and what appears to work. Take a look at the services offered at www.elance.com. There are many people that do freelance work and will do so for an affordable price. The Ezine editor might also give you a recommendation or two based on what he/she has seen work on their e-zine.

  • Keep your ads clean, honest and try not to sensationalize your business/offering.
  • Try to use the ad to, at the very least, capture the viewers email address -even if they don't become a buyer/client. Remember, the money is in the list...
  • As important as it is to write good ad copy, it is even more important to come up with the right headline. The headline has the task of capturing the readers attention and must be successful in order for the ad copy to work.
  • Take the time to investigate the best e-zines to run your ads. This is the most time consuming part, in my opinion, and I'll speak more on that later.
  • Make your Company name and/or website address stand out and they should be easy for the reader to remember.
  • When you find an ezine that you would like to advertise in, contact the editor of the ezine and try to speak with them. Oftentimes, their rates are negotiable and they might even allow you to test your ad copy for the first run. It doesn't hurt to ask.

  • Do your own research when seeking an ezine to advertise in. For example..If you are looking for n ezine that caters to realtors, ask a realtor, that you or someone knows, what ezines they subscribe to. They will often save you alot of time -and they'll ask what you're promoting!
  • Check the ezines back issues before advertising.
  • Have a vehicle in place to track the response that you receive from your ads. There are several tracking scripts and programs available on the net for this purpose.
  • If the ads success is marginal or minimal, try to negotiate a lower price for additional runs so that you're not paying premium rates as you tweak your ads.

I hope that these help you to become an effective e-zine advertiser. There are great results to be had with this method of advertising and I believe it will be around for some time.
