He draws them in easily.
Too easily.
They stare in awe,
following quick tricks of the hand.
The audience is mesmerized
as he moves without pause.
Even if he skipped a step they would not notice.
He has them in a trance.
They are his.
Where slight of hand exists,
they see only fluid magic.
A hand sweeping in elegant patterns
as he manipulates the talisman and the crowd.
Behind the back,
up a sleeve,
it's all smoke and mirrors.
They are sure he is the man he pretends to be.
They are sure his illusions are their reality.
He is a master of subtlety and bravado,
even making them one in the same.
They see only what he wants them to see,
even as he becomes lost within his own movements,
becoming, himself, the illusion.

Have you seen the Illusionist with Ed Norton? I am a bit biased because I really like Ed but it is a very entertaining movie. I also really liked The Prestige (Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale).

Yeah, I've seen it and I loved it! Of course, I was a little more partial to the prestige b/c Hugh is my Hollywood husband and all. And of course C Bale isn't too hard on the eyes ,either. Of course neither is Ed Norton!! HAHA ok, enough of my boy craziness...lol Did u ever see the Painted Veil? It is my all time fave Ed Norton movie--I LOVE it!!

Hugh Jackman always makes me think of chocolate brownies - solid, filling, and delicious! :)
Ed Norton makes me think of a banana split - can be vulnerable and sweet, but can also be tough and nasty!
Johnny Depp makes me think of Skittles - always playing a very different role.
