The Importance of Good Windshield Wipers

We all do it. That is, we don't give things like our windshield wipers a second thought, until that day when it's raining and your wiper is in shreds. Wipers have a life span. and it is dependent upon how well you take care of them.

Take care of your wipers. It really easy. When you go to the gas station and use the windshield cleaner, grab a paper towel and wet it with the cleaner. Then run it along the edge of the blades. This cleans the road dust & grim, salt and what have you off of the blade. You can also use rubbing alcohol and a clean shop rag when you're at home. When ever you wash your vehicle, don't just pick your wiper up to wash under it. Was it too!

Your going down the highway. It starts to rain, so you turn on the wipers. And then you realize that you have neglected to take care of your wiper blades for so long that they are coming part. There it is... the first little sliver...and that screeching sound...ohh no. So, you put the wipers on the lowest variable setting hoping that you can get where you're going before they come completely apart. Well now that you've made it, you forget all about them. Until the next time your out and it rains. Oh crap! You don't want to put a permanent scratch in the glass, so you turn them off and drive down the road in the rain with no wipers.

So now that your wipers are worn out, you need to change them. Most wipers come with a 'how it install' message on the package. If you don't find one then use this method.

Now you can feel safe in the knowledge that you have done the necessary maintenance on your wipers. It a great feeling when you turn on your wipers in a downpour and all is well!
