The CashCrate scam! I have found reference to that sentence a lot when searching for “work from home” opportunities. You can see the signs everywhere (on telephone polls, street corners, newspaper ads, magazines, etc.). This can be a good deal! The jobs actually involve filling out forms, they are legitimate and can be fun to participate in.

Is CashCrate a legitimate business or is it just out to scam us?

First of all, the word scam is defined as a confidence game, also known as a bunko, con, flim flam, gaffle, grift, scheme, or swindle and sounds so “dirty”. Cash crate is what is referred to as a GPT website. GPT stands for "Get Paid To”. These services generally pay you for completing surveys, free trials, or requesting free samples.

The concept of making money while sitting at home seems too easy to be true. It has been said that CashCrate, while not actually doing anything illegal, is perhaps stretching the truth when stating how easy it is to make money with them. The old Latin saying… caveat emptor (let the buyer beware) was never truer than most anything that involves the internet.

We all know that we need to be cautious whenever using a credit card. Many of the free trial offers require use of a credit card to qualify. It is up to you then to cancel the offer after the free trial period. This is where they “getcha”! If you forget to cancel in time, they will charge your credit card (you gave them the info, remember?) and you may not realize until the next billing cycle. Mean time they have your money for a few weeks to a few months.

CashCrate is a legitimate, money making opportunity! It is up to you to keep the retailers from taking advantage of you.
