Brings Whole New Meaning to "Personal Ads"

The "Ironed Out Diva", also known as Karen Kay (me), has come up with a fairly innovative way to pay for the expenses to attend a seminar (or rather "UnSeminar' ) put on by her favorite mentor, Pat O'bryan.

Pat's UnSeminars are more relaxed and easygoing than other Internet Marketing seminars, and I enjoy the fact that Pat encourages everyone, from the keynote speakers right down to the greenest newbie to the Internet Marketing world, to interact and hang out in between events at the hotel.  This cigar-smoking, somewhat philosophical crowd is the breeding ground for many internet stars, and I look forward to these events with great anticipation, hope and feeling of pulling myself one more huge leap toward my goal of being able to make a full time income working from home.

Now, I work full time at a regular job which does not exactly bring home enough dough to make the bread, if you get my drift.  I really enjoy working on the internet and have met some incredible people this way.  The next step in getting an internet marketing business going is getting to these seminars and working my way into my own Niche through the information learned and just as importantly the relationships I develop both online and off.  The UnSeminar is a must for me and this is the only way I have found to get the expenses covered until I can get my business running full steam.

What do I do?  I promote other people's sites by wearing their links and logos at the seminar itself! I do up T-shirts, one for each day, covered in links.  I charge a certain amount per spot, per day.  Frankly it was kind of a lark of an idea, but when I shared it with my friend at Pat O's Forum where I hang out quite a bit, I was flabbergasted by the huge amount of support.  I did it for Unseminar 6 in May of 2009 and am doing it again for Unseminar 7.

The idea of getting sponsors for an event is not new, but I guess what mak it unique is what I have come to call "the NASCAR approach".  One sponsor alone may not fit the bill, so I get multiple sponsors and fill up my shirt to make the dream a reality.
