In 2007 BusinessWeek.com published The Last Days of Internet Radio? Olga Kharif reported in 2003, revenue from online streaming music radio was $49 million. That number rose to $500 million by 2006. Bridge Ratings & Research found that 19% of Americans over the age of 12 listen to Internet radio. The research was done in 2007 by surveying 3,000 Americans.
The Earth Times, April 9, 2008 reported a survey showed that 13 percent of the Americans listened to the radio online, as compared with 11 percent in 2007. In the US that means that more than 1 in 7 persons aged 25-54 years listen to online radio each week.
Saturday Night Krush Radio Party
Such popularity led to the Saturday Night Krush Radio Party - http://wthashtag.com/KRP. The hard tag #KRP stands for Krush Radio Party. It is the official hash tag for @KrushRadio, an internet radio station broadcasting 7 days a week, 24 hours per day is on Twitter. According to a tweet from @KimberleKelly #KRP Party was collaboration with [DJ] @uberdragon”. She graciously stated, “He gives me all [the] credit. I don’t deserve [it]. KimberleKelly from California describes herself as “Extremely Sarcastic Fun Friend to have :o)” in her Twitter bio.
The #KRP Party is non-stop tweeting, laughing and music that begins at 8:00 PM EST on Saturday. @KimberleKelly is the top #KRP twitter contributor. Regular party “goers” are all tweeters - @CaribPop @dudeman718 @shannynlee @MissKemi @djcurtis @DWiley224 @GreyBurkart @nursebevw @raydawg13 @anotherside @mbreinholt@gameunicon @madtownbabe @KimPossible40 @chastity_1111 @Diamonds1980@PianoGeek and @a_simple_girl.
