The Lazy Man's Guide To Making an Online Income

Welcome! I am glad you stopped by! Before I go any further, let me tell you that I am NOT one of those internet Guru's promising you the opportunity to make thousands, or millions of dollars. I am a regular guy! That's it, no bunk, no baloney, just a regular guy.

I have been making an income online since 1998 and will tell you straight up that there isn't a "get rich" scheme out that that works for anyone. However, it is quite possible to make a significant income working online. That's what this Hub is about. I am going to share my experiecnes, tactics and know-how with you. There are many ways to generate free traffic and utilize free money making strategies to help you earn a living online.

Why? Simple, I am sure that many of you who are reading this page right now have put countless hours of work, spent money, and chased opportunites that didn't work! I am about helping others and being the good steward. While I cannot guaranty that you will be as successful as I have been, I can say that if you are determined to put some work into your online income you can succedd. Yes, it does take work! There are no two ways about it! So, be prepared, but have fun too! It's great to meet others and develop friendships and relationships while working online.

Throughout this Hub I am going to offer my experince, tips and tricks, and guidance in different text blocks as I update this Hub. We'll discuss everything from website layout and design, content inclusion, ads, website promotion, traffic, list building, blogging, and much more! First, let's talk about traffic exchanges:

Traffic Exchanges are a great way way to promote your site! There are both free and paid exchanges available all around the internet. Personally, I look for and like the FREE traffic exchanges. They have always treated me well. While that may sound silly to the Guru's on the Internet, the fact is that now more than ever people all over the world are looking to the Internet to make money during these hard economic times. Many can't afford to spend huge dollars on advertising, so they use the free promotion strategies available. That includes FREE traffic exchanges. So, get your sites listed on FREE traffic exchanges and services. They are easy and no cost profit generaters!

If you are someone who prefers the paid autosurf programs, look for reputable websites that offer lifetime memberships. In other words looks for sites that offer unlimited website traffic for a set price. Most provide this service fornear or under $25.00. That's cheap enough in today's internet world.

I still suggest that Autohits, AutoSurf, Popunder Exchanges, and so forth have a conversion rate between .01 and 1%. While that isn't necessarily dynamic, traffic can be generated at no or very little cost. They work well for me and have for many years!

*TIP: When using autohits or autosurf promotions for your site make sure that you use a page that loads quickly. If the viewer doesn't see the site in the first few seconds of the display, the autosurf script will move on to the nest site. That means you loose revenue. I have seen many pages that load so slowly that they don't get displayed before the time moves on to the next site in rotation. 

Banner and Text exchanges are two more of my favorite website advertsing and promotion resources. While, again, there are both free and paid advertising opportunites, I generally use only the reputable free banner exchanges and text exchanges and I get quality traffic.

The main thing to remember about banner exchanges is the quality of the banner. Surfers tend not to click on a banner that is plain and blah, nor do they readily click banners that scream advertisement. I suggest that a banner get right to the point. Spell out exactly the surfer should click it in your text on the banner. U have run banner exchanges for several years and the banners that do this get the most clicks.

The overall point is these services are free and they generate traffic! So experiment. Make a few banners of different styles and see which work best. For me a banner with a plain colored background works best.

*TIP: When looking for banner and text exchanges make sure you review their display ratio. It has been my experience that a display ratio of 5:1 or higher (4:1,3:1, etc) is appropriate for most needs.

 Viral ads are one of the most popular ad strategies on the internet. Everyting from simple emails to ebooks, to Google Adsense and like campaings on sites such s Yahoo or FaceBook are really all forms of viral advertising.

Here however, we are going to discuss simple viral advertising where you attmept to have your ad distributed to as many internet users as possible. My personal favorite remains with FREE ebooks and reports that I develop. Since you act as the developer you can ad as many links and as much information to your sites as you like. The ebook or report however should be useful to the end user or they likely won't forward it on, or attempt to resell it. I allow master resale rights on all my free ebooks and reports. That gives the user the option of using it as a freebie, or as a way to make their own income. Either way, my ads are still branded and enclosed in the ebook.

There are also sites and services on the internet that offer free viral ads in exchange for viewing other advertiser pages. I like these types of viral ads. At least you know that someone is going to view your ad. I use several of this and I honestly have to say that I have found several sites and offer I would likely have not otherwsie seen by viewing ads on viral ad campaigns. So, use at will!

*TIP: Take note when considering viral ad services. Some additionally ask you to display a link or banner, etc on your site in exchange for teir free service. There is nothing wrong with this, but if you miss adding the code to your site your viral ad will go no where
