The Light Of Watersmeet
61This strange light has been in Watersmeet for as long as I can remember. The light is called the Paulding Light. Ripley's and Unsolved Mysteries have been there but could not prove what it was. No one seems to be able to explain it. It attacts lots of people every year. It was the main thing for our kids to go see when they were in high school.
There are lots of ideas as to what it is. Here are a few.
Two children, a boy and a girl, were playing on the train tracks the train hit them and hey both died on the tracks. The boy still comes back there every night to look for her beloved sister, using a lantern like they had both carried the night they died.
The ghost of a railroad brakeman that died on the tracks.
Ghost of an Indian dancing on the power lines.
Others believe there is a vortex located near the site.
Locals attest to the fact that the lights start over Lake Superior and make their way inland.
Many say their headlights from near by highway. People claim to have seen the lights way back at the turn of the century,
My son said when he went to see the lights
they came right up to the hood of their car.
They all ducked scared the heck out of them.

My GOD... the LIGHT really appears!!! I mean with the technology readily at hand why cant they try to find out whats going on by placing hidden cameras at the spot the light usually appears? My heart is racing after watching the video. Thank you so much for such an exciting hub Moonlake. you know there are more videos about the light right. watch this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOtq7kQPfMw. when it comes to 8 secs listen carefully you can hear a small female voice whispering something like a warning or something in the audio but the group is obvlious to the whispering. then as the video goes on there is more whispering but i cant make out what it is. wow creepy
I heard the voice the first thing she said was "I'm getting tired" and the second thing was sounded like "Can we leave." Listen again and see if you hear that. I think it must be a child they have with them.

I have seen this light several times its gives off a strange aura almost like being in the presense of a spirit.
It dances around and changes color and frequency. The orbs are easily distracted to sound and light. So if you get a chance to see this phenomanon relax grab a beverage and watch . Its interesting and remember dont litter especially in Gods country.
