The Little Engine

I Think I Can, I Think I Can
Break out of the doldrums of self-pity. Self-pity destroys confidence and hope and has no place in recovery work. Reflect on the message that is found in the classic children's book, "The little Engine that could." In this story a small engine was given a great task to pull his train over a mountain that was daunting to him. This little engine was faced with the choice of either thinking he could do it or he couldn't. Throughout the struggles and efforts to get over the mountain the little engine was repeating the words, "I think I can, I think I can."
Because of this little engines optimism he was able to achieve his goal. He successfully climbed the mountain and reached the other side. You also can climb your mountains one day at a time - one moment at a time with that same attitude. You have the capacity to change and become whatever you desire to become. Of course there are challenges, obstacles and setbacks along the way but don't give up. The only way to grow stronger is by facing them. No matter where you find yourself today or this week just keep repeating the words of the little engine, "I think I can, I think I can."
Insecurity is never appealing. People prefer to be around those who are comfortable with themselves. Accept yourself for who you are even though you are not perfect. You don't have to be perfect to enjoy the journey of life. You are learning and growing one day at a time. Accept personal responsibility for the weaknesses you have and keep working on them but don't let your weaknesses destroy your whole outlook on life. This week look to shifting your focus to a more positive outlook. Remember, that to him who believes, "all things are possible."
Pornography and Sexual Addiction can bring a person to thinking they are worthless. You are not worthless, you are of extreme value and can help others around you. You Can Do IT!
