Oh, Yeah, We DO have a Constitution, Don't We?

The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The States have finally had it with the Federal Government overstepping its Constitutional authority.  Lawmakers from more than 20 states are passing legislation in their respective states, putting the Federal Government on notice that they have had ENOUGH.  CNN reports:

From Montana to South Carolina, lawmakers in mostly red states have pushed ahead with measures calling for state sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment, saying the federal government has overstepped its bounds with the stimulus package. The states are calling for the right to ignore laws they deem unconstitutional.

There are provisions in the Porkulus package that would force States to change their laws and to then be responsible for funding the programs the Porkulus begins.  Congressional leaders are trying to insist that the States have no say in this and that they HAVE to comply with the terms of bill.

But wait, the States are saying, under the Constitution, Congress doesn't have the right to do that.   The Constitution gives certain, LIMITED functions to the Federal Govement and all other rights belong to either the States or to the Citizens.

FINALLY, somebody decided to pull out the Constitution and read it.

Our country was founded on limited government.  Our founding fathers revolted against a government that tried to control them.  They set up a government with checks and balances to prevent an all controlling government from emerging.  That's why the Second Amendment exists.  A people who have the right to keep and bear arms is a dangerous group to try and tyrranize.  They just might shoot you.

It's a War All Right - A War on Prosperity!

The true agenda of Barak Obam is becoming clearer by the day.  He is rushing throught his agenda while the country is in panic mode and not organized enough to fight it.  Here is some of the realtiy behind his rhetoric:

Complaints have emerged recently, on the right and left, that the $787 billion stimulus bill will produce less growth and jobs than planned because too much of it goes to social programs and transfer payments, or "weak" Keynesian stimulus. The administration's Romer-Bernstein study on the stimulus estimated by the end of next year it would increase jobs by 3.6 million and GDP by 3.7%.

One of the first technical examinations of the Romer-Bernstein projections has been released by Hoover Institution economists John Cogan and John Taylor, and German economists Tobias Cwik and Volker Wieland. They conclude that the growth and jobs stimulus will be only one-sixth what the administration predicts. In part, this is because people anticipate that the spending burst will have to be financed by higher taxes and so will spend less than anticipated.

The reality is that Obama's agenda is the redistribution of wealth.  He plainly told Joe the Plumber so during the campaign.  The top 1% of wage earners pay 39% of the taxes collected by the federal government.  Think about that.  One percent is being saddled with 39% of the TOTAL tax burden of this country.  And he says they're not paying enough.  What is wrong with this picture?

The goal is to create a permanent bread class of over 50% of the electorate.  They think this will build a base that will permanently keep the Democrats in power.  If over half of the country is on the public dole, the Democrats believe they can stay in power forever.

It's a war alright.  A war against prosperity and achievement.

It's All About Gaining Power and Control

Barack's No Confidence Vote

Michael Boskin, a professor of economics at Stanford University and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institute, had this to say about Barack Obama's policies in the Wall Street Journal:

It's hard not to see the continued sell-off on Wall Street and the growing fear on Main Street as a product, at least in part, of the realization that our new president's policies are designed to radically re-engineer the market-based U.S. economy, not just mitigate the recession and financial crisis...

Mr. Obama's $3.6 trillion budget blueprint, by his own admission, redefines the role of government in our economy and society. The budget more than doubles the national debt held by the public, adding more to the debt than all previous presidents -- from George Washington to George W. Bush -- combined.

When Barrak Obama took office, the Dow was at 8,281.22 on January 16, 2009, the last day of trading before the inauguration. Today it is at 6,572.22. That's a loss of 1,709 points. The Dow has lost nearly 25% of it's value since the beginning of this year, 21% since the inauguration of Barack Obama.

The market is a measure of confidence in the policies of the administration. For the markets to rally, investors merely have to BELIEVE that the policies of the administration will create positive change in the economy. Investors in the market, people who understand economics, are taking a look at policies of the administration and getting their money the hell out of Dodge.

Change you can believe in? The markets have resoundingly stated, "No!"

When a man has a lack of core values or his true values are not what he's trying to convince you they are, he has a tendency to not to make eye contact with his audience.  President Obama's inability to make a speech without a teleprompter rather makes one wonder if it's because of a lack of ability or a lack of sincerity.

It has become rather obvious that Barack Obama cannot give a speech worth listening to without his teleprompter.  It's rather like Linus draging his blanket with him everywhere he goes for security.

After the teleprompter malfunctioned a few times last summer and Obama delivered some less-than-soaring speeches...

In a break from his routine, Obama did not use a teleprompter during his pre-Inauguration speech at a factory in Bedford Heights, Ohio — and his delivery seemed to suffer. He paused too long at parts. He accentuated the wrong words. And overall he sounded hesitant and halting as he spoke from the prepared remarks on the podium.

Even reporters are beginning to comment on the fact he goes nowhere without one.  No gathering is too small for the teleprompter to protect the President from too close contact with his audience.

“He uses them to death,” a television crewmember who also covered the White House under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush said of the teleprompter. “The problem is, he never looks at you. He’s looking left, right, left, right — not at the camera. It’s almost like he’s not making eye contact with the American people.

Not making eye contact in a speech is a sure way to lose your audience, other than the sycophants in close proximity cheering your every utterance.  But not making eye contact through the camera guarantees losing parts of the television audience.  Every college student forced to take Public Speaking 101 knows this.
